#7 | Drew Hatter | 6’0″ CG | Blaze/Eastern Mennonite (VA) ’24
Hatter caught fire in the second half of Blaze’s win over TNBA. The rising sophomore drilled 4 of 5 from behind the arc. He remained shot-ready at all times and was a frequent target for his unselfish teammates.
#6 | Gowtam Kommi | 6’3″ SF | NOVA Cavaliers/Marshall (VA) ’22
Kommi has a quick release and sets his feet quickly. He made Team Richmond pay repeatedly for leaving him open on the perimeter during their hard-fought contest on Saturday.
#5 | Jordan Malmlov | 6’0″ PG | Team BBC/Spalding (MD) ’23
Our resident shot doctor Colby Giacubeno endorsed Malmov after his impressive performance on Saturday morning. He is a newcomer to the area who is one to watch moving forward.
#4 | Doyle Brown | 6’1″ CG | District Basketball Club/Centreville (VA) ’23
Brown exhibits textbook mechanics and can shoot just as well off the dribble as he does from the catch. He’s also a very good rebounding guard.
#3 | Kyle Pulliam Kyle Pulliam 6'3" | SG Good Counsel | 2022 State MD | 6’4″ CG | Global Squad/Good Counsel (MD) ’22
Pulliam is making us look smart after identifying him as a possible breakout candidate last week. The rangy guard prospect started off Friday night’s action with an impressive block at the rim. He stuffed the stat sheet with a full line while hitting 4 of 7 from downtown.
#2 | Marcus Banks Marcus Banks 6'2" | SG Bethel | 2020 State VA | 6’4″ PG | Big Shots Elite VA/FUMA ’21
Not just one of the better shooters we saw in the gym, but one of the better unsigned seniors. Banks made all 9 of his free throws on Friday night on his way to a triple-double. He led his team to a hard-fought win over the NH Heat.
#1 | Carmelo Pacheco Carmelo Pacheco 6'4" | SG Spotswood | 2022 State VA | 6’4″ SF | Blaze/Spotswood (VA) ’22
Pacheco has grown at least a couple of inches in the last several months. He knocked down 5 of 8 treys in Blaze’s win over TNBA on Saturday morning, and 9 of 14 threes on Sunday in his team’s championship win.
