Here are a few 15U standouts from Kansas at the tournament:
Jaxon Klein, 2024, KC Spurs Black, Blue Valley Northwest:
Klein is a long athlete who plays with the motor revved all the way up. He never stops working in the lane or hustling from end to end. He gets his hands on a lot of balls in the air, and he can go get rebounds over the crowd. With his quickness and long strides he can penetrate and get to the goal, where he can finish or kick the ball to teammates. Klein is a really entertaining player to watch.
Labron Young, 2024, Cauley-Stein Elite, Washington:
Young is a small guard who plays with enormous heart. He has a great handle and attacks the lane fearlessly. Because his team struggled on Day Two, Young took it upon himself to try to score on the drive. He put up some acrobatic shots and drew lots of fouls. He is lightning in the open court and digs in on defense.
Keaton Hargrave, 2024, SSA Hoops Elite White, Abilene:
Hargrave is just one of the many hard-working freshmen on the SSA White team. He pushes from end to end, throwing his body around and making plays ‘til the final buzzer. He can handle the ball and drive, crash the boards and make a lot of plays in the lane. He’s well built and uses his strength well.
Emmett Gaskill, 2024, SSA Hoops Elite Black, Hugoton:
The 6-foot-2 Gaskill has the skills and athleticism to make plays inside and out. He handles the ball well, including against pressure, and can shoot it from deep. He can also mix it up in the lane, drive and score in traffic. The small school baller showed he can compete with top-level talent.
Ian McNabb, 2024, SSA Hoops Elite Black, Manhattan:
McNabb was relentless on the glass and played much bigger than the 6-foot-1 that he is listed. He followed up a lot of misses, both in traffic and on the run in transition. He has good hands, a nice stroke from deep and the athleticism to make plays in the open court.
