Here’s a look at some of the top 15U scorers in KC last weekend (in alphabetical order):
Joseph Graves Joseph Graves 6'6" | PF RUSH Homeschool | 2024 State MO , 6-foot-6 forward, Missouri Kings, Lighthouse Christian:
Graves is a big, powerful forward who makes strong moves in the lane. He has the agility to move through traffic and the speed to keep up with the play. Once he’s got the ball in his hands, he has a great face-up game with the ability to put the ball on the floor. He scored a ton of points in KC with his long reach and powerful first step.
Trevor Hennig, 6-foot-3 forward, Team Lavine 3SSB, Mount Si HS:
Henning is a slender forward who likes to pull the trigger from the perimeter. But his three-point shot isn’t necessarily his best feature. He is really long and angular going through the lane, using his long reach and body control to bet shots off when guarded. He runs the floor and scores a lot of points moving at high speed.
Dalyn Jackson, 6-foot guard, Alabama Celtics, Demopolis HS:
Jackson plays the game with a smile on his face and a bounce in his step. He and the Celtics had a lot of fun in Kansas City, racking up a bunch of runaway wins by scoring points in a flurry. Jackson led the way, scoring in a up-tempo style. He has a nice pull-up jumper and likes to shoot from deep. He gets to the goal and scores a lot in transition.
Malachi Johnson, 6-foot-2 guard, Illinois HoopStars – Ohanson, Rockford HS (pictured):
One of the most polished players at the tournament, Johnson is a top-notch athlete and ball handler, which means he gets to the goal and makes shots in traffic. Johnson can handle point, and gets his teammates involved. But he is just as likely to knife through a defense and hit an acrobatic shot.
Adam Rickman Adam Rickman 6'6" | SF Borgia | 2024 State MO , 6-foot-3 forward, Mid-State Select, Borgia:
A powerful forward who can elevate, Rickman can score in a variety of ways. He powers to baskets in traffic and can post up. But he also can face the basket, employ a variety of moves and hit jumpers, fadeaways, and one-handed shots off the bounce.
