Lapwai won their three games by an average margin of 30 points and they will be scary again next season after graduating two seniors who played minimal minutes all year long. Kyrie Irving sent the Wildcats a message before they made their run and the fuel seemed to push them to the ultimate goal of securing the state title. Kase Wynott, Lapwai: Voted the MVP of the 1A DI state tournament, Kase Wynott capped off an excellent season with an impressive weekend performance. Wynott is only a freshman, but he stepped up and took control of the Wildcats’ offense when Titus Yearout Titus Yearout 6'3" | PG Lapwai | 2022 State ID was being doubled and denied the ball. Wynott showed an ability to shoot and score from anywhere on the court and picked apart opposing defenses on his way to MVP honors. Watch for Kase to be one of the top players in the state in the following years.
Nick Liebich Nick Liebich 6'7" | C Riverstone | 2021 State ID , Riverstone International: Nick had a great weekend of basketball for Riverstone as he led them to a second place finish in the state. Liebich showed that he is an excellent stretch-4 who can bang in the post or stretch to the three-point line to knock down a jumper. Nick is a solid rim protector as well who showed that he can hold his own defensively and forced offensive players to rethink their decision to come into the paint. Liebich is a great player and will transition nicely to the college level.
Corbin Bedke Corbin Bedke 6'1" | SF Oakley | 2021 State ID , Oakley: Corbin showed heart and mental toughness as he led Oakley to a consolation championship. Bedke knocked down a couple of key free throws to cement the victory for Oakley and willed his way through the consolation bracket to end the season on a high note. Corbin is a great scorer from anywhere on the court and shoots the ball especially well from outside.
