The players were out and about and showing their talent and production on the basketball court so let’s get them some love. Here are some guars who played well last weekend outside of the #PHLive.
Israel Randall, 5’10 Point Guard,Marcus Denmon 2023: The Lincoln Prep and Denmon guard has been on my radar for quite sometime and he has started off his grassroots run with Denmon the right way. At the RecruitLook event he was really tough to stay in front of with the ball in his hands and he is lethal at breaking defenses down off the bounce and getting his guys great looks inside and on the perimeter. Randall is also capable of drilling shots in crunch time and finding space for quality looks.
Alex Benassi Alex Benassi 6'2" | PG Lee's Summit | 2022 State MO , 6’3 Point Guard, Missouri Hawks 2022: A tough true all around point guard with great size and court vision. At the RecruitLook event he had a monster showing with a 23 point, 9 assist, 4 rebound, and 2 steals game. He also put together other solid performances against top notch AAU programs from around the country. His versatility in the back court and playmaking ability in both the half court and transition is top notch.
Tony Osburn Tony Osburn 6'2" | CG Mound City | 2022 State MO , 6’2 Guard, Nebraska Supreme (Pictured): One of the premier shooters of the basketball was back at it again over the weekend in two solid games. He has also been terrific in past weekends as well drilling both open and contested jump shots. He is also terrific at making in game adjustments to how guys guard him on the 3 point line, and is an underrated passer as he can thread the needle on passes to get guys great looks. He continues to make winning plays as well on the court.
Kernan Bundy Kernan Bundy 6'3" | SG Blue Valley North | 2022 State KS , 6’3 Guard, Team Yobo: Bundy has done a bunch of winning in his grassroots and HS careers and he has helped amplify that winning wherever he plays. That was shown this weekend as he drilled a game winner for Yobo at the RecruitLook event this weekend. The defense and energy always allow him to be effective, but his offensive game continues to grow and be a staple of his player DNA.
Sam Somerhalder Sam Somerhalder 6'7" | SF St. James Academy | 2022 State KS , 6’7 Wing, Team KC: Somerhalder continues to tear up the grassroots scene for Team KC and the event this weekend was no different. He put up some big performances against the likes of Team Sizzle. The St James product continues to expand his game and develop his perimeter skill and consistency which makes him such a versatile weapon on the basketball court. A highlight performance of his was 23 point, 9 rebound, and 2 assist game in the tournament.
