Bradley Frisch of Minnesota Select Mantey (6’1, Eden Prairie, 2022). Another Frisch from EP that can knock out triples. Mantey showed off that pretty stroke hitting four in the game we saw and his KC weekend was full of triples helping Mantey go 4-0.
Jon Haakenson Jon Haakenson 6'2" | SG Maple Grove | 2022 State MN of D1 Minnesota Prospects (6’2, Maple Grove, 2022). When you need a guy to get a hand in the face of a top scoring guard, that’s Haakenson When you need a player to deny somebody the ball, that’s Haakenson. If you need a player to trust making the loose ball play that’s John. He’s getting to the rim, creating turnovers, and making transition plays. Also just led his team to the state tournament. If I’m a division two school I am watching the way he defends and works so close.
Daniel Ijadimbola of Minnesota Select Ohnstad (6’3, BSM, 2022). This guard group of Select has shooters, athletes, defenders, and then you have the shifty attacking guard with length and that is Daniel. He can pair with his teammates defensively or Daniel will use the impressive handles to get the ball to the rim for numbers.
Jack Janicki Jack Janicki 6'4" | SG White Bear Lake | 2023 State #277 Nation MN of D1 Minnesota 16s (6’4, White Bear Lake, 2023). Jack is playing in a way that is about to take the hold on the second prospect spot in this class of Minnesota sophomores. Jack is shooting with a heavy confidence and teammates have that same confidence in him. His shooting touch coming from a big frame with good lift has a lot of division one schools talking. Intelligent, skill, and confidence, a hell of a combo.
Benard Omooria Benard Omooria 6'2" | CG Osseo | 2022 State MN of Minnesota Select Ohnstad (6’2, Osseo, 2022). Select is winning games with balance, defense, and they’ve had some big shooting nights. Benard has been a part of all three. He’s had two monster shooting games this year including the 6 of 6 performance scoring at the arc against the Colorado Titans. I’ve also been impressed with the way Benard has pressured the basketball and of course he can handle as a strong combo.
Leo Torbor Leo Torbor 6'1" | PG Park Center | 2022 State MN of Minnesota Select Ohnstad (6’3, Park Center, 2022). Don’t be surprised when Leo all of a sudden is getting scholarship interest from division one schools at a level you weren’t expecting. Leo has explosive athletic ability that few players can match. It’s not just the highlight dunks but the basket attacks are so tough to move with and defensively Torbor has the potential to be elite in the state. He’s the second best prospect Select has on a loaded team that is 8-0. He’s good for 4-5 scores, 5-6 boards, and a ton of defense every game.
Dylan Wheeler Dylan Wheeler 6'3" | SG Mounds View | 2022 State MN of Minnesota Heat MacDonald (6’3, Mounds View, 2022). One of the hottest shooters in the city of Kansas City was Dylan Wheeler Dylan Wheeler 6'3" | SG Mounds View | 2022 State MN . Facing the athletes from Showtime Elite Dylan exploded for five first half threes and scored 20 points for the game. Later that night Wheeler then hit another batch of triples to get the Heat ahead of the Gateway Knights for a 13 point win. The Heat won three games in KC with Wheeler leading the way.
Easton Whitcomb Easton Whitcomb 6'3" | SF Rogers | 2023 State MN of Minnesota Chill (6’3, Rogers, 2023). Easton is coming off an 8-9 point per game sophomore season for Rogers and now he’s helping Minnesota Chill win games. His 7-0 attacking run of scores is what grabbed my attention first and then the fearless approach followed by touch scores on the move is what really impressed. We saw Easton scored 17 in the game we saw.
