| Tre Johnson Tre Johnson 6'5" | SG Link Academy | 2024 #4 Nation MO | Point Guard | Young Pro Basketball 2023 |
Tre Johnson Tre Johnson 6'5" | SG Link Academy | 2024 #4 Nation MO is a 2024 elite playmaker that played up with the 2023 squad and did more than hold his own, showing and proving that no one could compete with him, his game had no weaknesses, and was on another level from anyone he faced. Johnson’s natural ability to score at will from anywhere on the floor was uncanny and unbelievable, even on defense Johnson was able to get a steal or force a turnover whenever he pleased. His skill set, anticipation, and understanding of what should be happening on the court at all times were truly something special. This elite assist-man displayed a basketball IQ that was through the roof. He was an outstanding passer with next-level court vision, a true dime dropper that can consistently put a pass right on the money, to any spot on the court, with either hand, accurately every time. Tre’s height and length seem to be a huge advantage for him, standing at 6-foot-5-inches, he’s able to see and pass over the heads of most guards. Extremely comfortable with the ball in hand, has an excellent handle and killer first step to go along with it. Johnson showed off his ability to take over a game and change the outcome at any given moment. Young Pro Basketball was down double-digits until their star guard Tre Johnson Tre Johnson 6'5" | SG Link Academy | 2024 #4 Nation MO said enough is enough, and completely took over the game bringing his squad back in play late in the second half by leading his team in assist, points, and rebounds. In transition, he couldn’t be stopped, he was taking it all the way to the rack for a layup that he had no trouble finishing with his left or right hand. With his aggressive style of play on the offensive end, Tre put an immense amount of pressure on opposing guards by continuously keeping them guessing, never knowing if and when he’d attack or pull up. Things just came too easy for him, it seemed like every play he was breaking down the defense, and blowing right through the lane for a powerful one-handed slam dunk. Although he could score at will, he was still unselfish and looked to keep everyone involved. His game is a thing of beauty, Johnson was the leading assist man and scorer in each game he participated in, even finishing a couple of games with 20 points and 33 points. He was by far the clear-cut best player of the 16u division, if not the whole tournament. There’s no doubt about it, Tre Johnson has potential that exceeds the college level.
| Luke Carter Luke Carter 5'10" | CG Wylie East | 2023 State TX | Point Guard | BYG Elite 2023 |
Luke Carter Luke Carter 5'10" | CG Wylie East | 2023 State TX was a flat-out beast all weekend, proving to be someone that could beat teams in multiple ways, not only was he capable of getting to the hoop anytime he wanted to, but he also shot the lights out from deep when the defense least expected it. Terror in the open floor, when coming down the court with a full head of steam, he was unstoppable, showing an ability to get all the way to the rack to either finish or draw the foul by using his speed, ball skills, and footwork. This efficient three-level bucket getter did an amazing job of playing up-tempo, constantly having the defense on their toes, backing them up, keeping them off balance, and turning them around. Carter attracted a lot of attention from the defenses early on, by the second half of most games the defense was trying everything they could to throw him off his game, double-teaming and face guarding all the way up the floor on each possession, even attempting to rough him up a bit, but it wasn’t enough to stop Luke. He displayed phenomenal body control, knowing how to initiate contact while continuing to keep his balance and still complete the play, leading him to several and-one and free-throw opportunities. His control of the rock is something to marvel at. On a consistent basis, Carter was able to make one or two moves and get to his spots in a hurry, very tight ball skills even when flying at top speed. This kid went ballistic and put up numbers against every team he faced, producing 25 points with 17 coming in the first half of game one, then 26 points and 3 three-pointers in game two, finishing with a total of 51 points on day one alone. The next day, Carter went on to continue his success during the second day of the tourney by one-upping himself with a 27 points performance. Luke Carter Luke Carter 5'10" | CG Wylie East | 2023 State TX is a poised, highly competitive, and very focused ballplayer on the court that plays his own game and doesn’t let others get him out of character.
| Carson Brown Carson Brown 6'0" | SG Tesoro | 2023 State CA | Small Forward | BBSS National 2023 |
Carson Brown Carson Brown 6'0" | SG Tesoro | 2023 State CA is a name to get familiar with, he’s a 6-foot-7-inch confident sharpshooter with range out to the parking lot; some teams found this out the hard way. Very smooth mechanics and a good rotation on the ball, Brown can shoot the rock in every way possible, whether it’s spotting up, pulling up, or catching and shooting. This young man can and will pull-up in your face from anywhere inside the half-court with no consciousness, he can even run off of screens, set his feet, and get a shot up quickly, he’s seriously deadly when he’s able to shoot in rhythm, with his body squared up with the basket. The type of shooter you cannot give any space to for any reason, he must be crowded and hassled at all times. His length and height advantage allowed him to shoot over the majority of defenders. With the high release point he displayed, he made it difficult for defenders to contest his jumpers effectively. Although Brown can shoot it from any place on the floor, he plays the game with efficiency, picking and choosing his spots well and not forcing his scoring, shooting, or trying to do too much, Carson always scored within the flow of the offense. His consistency was also impressive, every game it seemed like he put up the same stat line, finishing games with totals of 16 points, 18 points, and 20 points. This shooting marksman has shown a lot of upside to his game, he has all the tools it takes to not only become a top talent in the state but also a high-level college basketball player.
