Brendon Crispe | Forward/Center | Colorado Premier/Arapahoe (CO) | (2024)
Crispe was one of the first board gobblers I had noted on Saturday morning. He used his sizeable 6’5 frame to collect plenty of tough rebounds for this Colorado Premier squad. Crispe also made scoring in the paint look effortless from what I had witnessed virtually–he seemed very comfortable scoring in the post. He also showed an excellent passing ability as every pass he threw was very crisp.
Brayden Haan | Forward | Colorado Titans/Erie (CO) | (2024)
Haan also stood out in the rebounding department on Saturday in the afternoon. Haan was locked in physically with every rebound he could get in the post. Haan had one of the best frames I saw from this Colorado Titans roster despite not being their tallest prospect on the roster. He also showed poise in his shooting from mid-range.
Javares Reid Javares Reid 6'9" | C Rosemary Anderson Prep | 2024 State OR | Center | West Coast Rebels/Liberty (NV) | (2024)
Reid was one of the most sizeable front-court prospects I watched this weekend. Standing at 6’7, Reid made a name for himself, especially in the second half of the game with his rebounding ability. One thing I loved about his game was his motor. Some prospects you see a drop in their motor when they have a big lead, but that was not the case with Javares Reid Javares Reid 6'9" | C Rosemary Anderson Prep | 2024 State OR of the West Coast Rebels out of Las Vegas. Reid and guard Luke Wohl Luke Wohl 5'11" | CG Silverado | 2024 State NV are players to watch out of Liberty High School in Henderson, NV.
Jeremiah Gracely | Guard | Pluto Prospects/Pikes Peak Academy (CO) | (2024)
Gracely was the most undersized prospect on this list (5’5) but played bigger than his size on Sunday. I saw him as a sneaky rebounder that went in to grab a good amount of rebounds against much bigger prospects and showed to be fearless in that regard. He also showed a quick step and effectively got in the passing lanes and got some critical steals for Pluto. He will need to develop a more consistent outside shot in the coming years, but he has more than plenty of time to do so!
James Brown III | Forward | Rocky Mountain Fever/Cheyenne Central (WY) | (2024)
Brown III was one of the more dominant rebounders I saw towards the end of the day on Sunday. Not only was he excellent in the post on the boards, but he also showed some bounce to his game when getting his chances to score around the basket. The most significant difference between Brown III and the rest of this group is his speed, as he moved with a strong burst when he had the basketball, no matter where he was at around the shooting circle. He also showed a quick passing ability on Sunday.
THE EXTRA BOARD GOBBLER
I did come across one more board gobbler from Sunday morning’s games. #13 (not listed in my media guide) for the West Coast Rebels was an extremely long prospect that had no issue whatsoever grabbing rebounds in the paint for the entirety of the game. He also was a versatile shooter from everywhere for the Rebels in their blowout win from Sunday morning. If anyone has a name for this young man, please let me know, and I will add him promptly!
