- Jace Steinmetz Jace Steinmetz 6'3" | SG Garden City High Scool | 2023 KS , 6’3 Guard, SSA Elite 2023 Black (Pictured): Had a roaring start to the weekend that was unfortunately shortened due to an ankle injury. He was shooting the ball at a really high clip and getting to his spots on the floor with ease. Hopefully a quick recovery will allow him to get that momentum back. His size on the perimeter and shooting ability go great together. He finished his weekend with a 29 point outburst in a big time win. The Garden City product is in store for a big end to the spring and summer.
- Makaen Hastings Makaen Hastings 5'11" | PG Salina South | 2023 KS and Dre Delort make up a nice PG tandem, SSA Elite 2023 Black: HAstings and Delort are both slighter but shift guards who can handle pressure in the back court well. Delort is the longer of the two, but Hastings can get under defenders and has quick left to right moves to create separation. Having both together on the floor at the same time gave their group a variety of options to handle pressure, ways to initiate the offense, and shot creation for teammates.
- Josiah Shields, 6’ Guard, Oz Elite-Brown: Shields is nice guard player and should find ways to help a talented Derby team next year if he continues to develop. He has good drive and kick ability and can knock down the long ball himself. Shields had a solid overall weekend and is someone to watch develop this spring. He can get going down hill and put a ton of pressure on defenses as well with his handle and quickness.
- Caden Stoecklein Caden Stoecklein 6'0" | PG Maryville | 2023 State MO and Mikey Thomas Mikey Thomas 6'1" | SG St. Joe Lafayette | 2023 State MO are a nice back court pair for 816 Hoops 2023: Thomas and Stoecklein kinda seem like the move on a string together out on the court, always in great space and help one another get terrific looks. Highlighted with a nice penetration and kick from Stoecklein to a relocating Thomas into the corner for a three ball. Both guys are very fundamentally sound, don’t make many negative plays, shoot the ball well, and compete at a high level.
