Continue ReadingPH continues to shine the light on the class of 2021 prospects who will get the opportunity to showcase their individual talents when basketball starts in Nor Cal. Here’s a quality group of prospects who should be looked at as we push forward into the unknown season of NorCal hoops in California. These players are ranked in the Prep Hoops NorCal Ranking system.
Alex Horiak Alex Horiak 6'11" | C Jesuit | 2021 State CA-N 6’11 Center of Jesuit HS.
Huriak was listed as a project a year ago. His size alone generates interest. Now he has made steady improvement as a prospect who could help a D2 or better. He’s become more aggressive in all phases of his game. He’s an adequate defender in the post, who makes a good effort to defend. He takes up space, and has some presence inside. His offense is improved.
Ethan Jew Ethan Jew 6'5" | C St Ignatius | 2021 State CA-N 6’5 Power Forward of St. Ignatius HS.
Jew is a undersized physical post player who plays an aggressive style of basketball, the more physical the better. He’s a wide body with good foot work in the post, and a decent shot at the high post. He has the body to bump and bang with the big boys in the paint. He’s a good passer, and screener, who plays with a good level of intensity. He’ll rebound, and work in the post.
Caden Flowers Caden Flowers 6'0" | PG Capital Christian | 2021 State CA-N 6’0 Point guard of Capital Christian HS.
The ultimate floor leader. Flowers would make a good team captain. He’s an experienced player that can adjust to any system he plays. He’s a pass first pt. guard that can run a team. His handles, and passing are there. He has voice command. He’s a defender that gets under the skin of opponents. His shot is improved.
Joey Protenic Joey Protenic 6'6" | SF San Ramon Valley | 2021 CA-N 6’6 Forward of san Ramon Valley HS.
We have to give Protenic the Glue Guy label, he doesn’t score a bunch of points, but he’ll work as hard as any player when he’s on the court. Loose balls, rebounds for put backs, sets solid screens, good defender, and runs the court fits Protenic. He gets thing done in and around the post. He has a decent shot 15ft an in.
Mykola Ediger Mykola Ediger 6'3" | SG Half Moon Bay | 2021 State CA-N 6’3 Combo Guard of Half Moon Bay HS.
Ediger spends a good amount of time in the early parts of the game making it a point to get his teammates involved. His court vision, and passing are notable. His patience at the top shows he can direct an offense before taking matters into his own hands. He has decent handles, and can go get his own shot with drives, pull up jumpers or 3’s. Put him on your watch list.
