Here’s a look at some of the top 15U ball handlers in Lincoln last weekend (in alphabetical order):
Naser Ismail, guard, South Dakota Network:
Network has a ton of guys who can all handle the ball, but of all of them Ismail is the true point guard. He has elite ball skills and isn’t bothered by pressure. He also knows how to direct the club, keeping his head up and getting the ball to the right places. He could help his athletic club push the tempo, and he almost never turned it over even playing an up-tempo style.
Dane Jacobsen, guard, Lincoln Supreme 1:
Like Ismail, Jacobsen plays on a team where nearly everyone can handle the ball. So Jacobsen doesn’t really play the role of a true point guard. But on a team that pushes at break-neck speed, Jacobsen has the ball in his hands in transition, penetrating, fighting through contact and orchestrating the show. He’s a bigger 6-foot-1 guard with great vision and ability to make plays through contact.
Kabron Lewis, guard, Next Level Up:
Lewis is a flashy playmaker who has size and physicality to complement his nice handle. His spin, crossover and hesitation dribbles lead to highlight drives in transition. The Oklahoman can get to any spot on the court on the drive, creating a lot of shots for himself.
Keeon Marshall, guard, Columbia Supreme:
Marshall is a small, powerfully built guard who did a great job handling the ball under pressure and getting his team into its offense. He uses his strength and bulldog aggressiveness to get around the court, battle through contact, set up teammates or go to the goal.
Honorable mention:
Lazerek Houston Lazerek Houston 6'0" | PG Lincoln Norttar | 2025 State NE and BJ Bradford, guards, Lincoln Supreme 2025:
These two small 8th graders were both so good against their older opponents last weekend. They are uninhibited, fearless and aggressive. They are also smart. They make great decisions, but never stop pushing. They just seem to have a feel for what they can do, seeing a step ahead. They both have remarkable handles and weave and juke their way around the court, blowing through defenses and creating exciting plays all over the place.
