There are some players out there that have game and this might be the time to showcase it. There are also other players that will play major roles moving forward for their high school teams and they could really make a jump this Spring and increase their stock. Here is a short list of players to watch.
6’3 G Max Toombs Max Toombs 6'3" | CG Corner Canyon | 2023 State UT | Corner Canyon High School | Utah Mountain Stars | 2023
Max will be one of the top playmakers and scorers returning next year from a team that lost a lot of scoring power and leadership. Max has an opportunity to really take over in various ways next year. He has shown that he has that leadership and scoring ability in some early games with his club team. Max is strong with the ball in his hands and he is a tough guard off the ball as well. Max moves fluidly without the ball and he knows how to use and come off of screens. He is a straight-line driver that powers his way through the lane.
6’9 C Kean Webb Kean Webb 6'10" | C American Fork | 2023 State UT | Dixie High School | Las Vegas Punishers | 2023
Kean is an underrated prospect that has chosen a new club team and the change of scenery might do him well. He will not only be challenged at practice he will play in some events that will stretch him. Might still be growing and he is getting bigger and stronger. He has a nice-looking mid-range game. Holds his own on the blocks and he has soft hands and can play with his back to the basket.
6’4 G James Rust James Rust 6'5" | CG Timpview | 2023 State UT | Timpview High School | Utah Prospects | 2023
James is an underrated athlete; he might not look the part but the kid can go. James is a defender that can create steals abut he can also body players up, yet keep them in-front. James has a high motor to go along with his High-IQ. James is a shot maker. He can run 1-3 and at times he can defend the 4 spots as well. James can score from the top of the key and the wings but when he is moving, he is at his best because he is so active. Rebounds really well and he is a willing passer that is always looking up the floor.
6’0 G Jaxon Workman | Murray High School | Salt Lake Rebels | 2023
Tough player to defend as a PG that can really shoot the ball. Jaxon is that player that absolutely stretches the floor. He can create space with a little bit of his quickness that creates separation. Impressed with his ability to knock them down off the dribble and he can also put a lot of pressure on teams when he is running the pick n’ roll.
6’0 G Yorgio Golesis Yorgio Golesis 5'10" | SG Skyline | 2023 State UT | Skyline High School | Kongo Elite | 2023
Big time sleeper in the Class of 2023. “YG” is a scoring guard that moves so well off the ball. He has a great release and he can maneuver his way in the lane. Can shoot it from deep and that mid-range area. Look for him to really make a jump in production, especially learning and playing with Kongo Elite.
