The Hustle Season Kickoff took place from Saturday, March 27th through Sunday, March 28th, and featured 45 programs ranging from 15 to 17U. The event also featured several quality PGs. In this article, we take a look at the top floor generals from the event.
DJ Thomas DJ Thomas 6'2" | PG Liberty | 2024 #19 Nation NV 6’1 West Coast Select 2024 (#1PHN 2024) – When I evaluate PG’s I’m looking for a player that allows his team to play at a pace that they can be successful at. Perhaps no player better embodies that than Thomas. He dictated the tempo of games all weekend, allowing his team to get a good shot almost every time down. He’s crafty with the use of his body and knows just the right time to take the big shot for his team.
Jace Aquiningoc Jace Aquiningoc 5'9" | PG Liberty | 2024 State NV 5’8 PF West Coast Select 2024 (#40PHN 2024) – Aquiningoc is flirting with being on my all showtime team. The jitterbug, PG seems to play well every time I watch him. He’s a pest on defense and has the correct combination of shooting, and transition ability to change the scoreboard. He teamed with backcourt mate Jayden Jones Jayden Jones 6'4" | SG Desert Oasis | 2024 State NV to cause havoc all weekend, en route to a 4-0 showing for WCS.
Alijah Adem Alijah Adem 6'2" | PG Spring Valley | 2024 State #174 Nation NV 6’1 PG Chosen Few 2024 (#7PHN 2024) (featured image) – Outside of a few unforced turnovers, Adem was good this weekend. He once again showed that he has the ability to create for himself off the dribble, and mixed that in with some timely passes to teammates. He was the engine that allowed Chosen Few to go 4-0 on the weekend.
Marquis Tremble 6’1 Eagles Academy 2022 – The Eagles played a lot of zone, however that did not keep Tremble from being active. He got tips and defections from the top of the 2-3 often times starting and finishing the break for the Eagles. What he was best at this week was sniping, evident by multiple 3 point performances throughout the weekend.
Camryn Haynes 5’9 Lathrop Thunder 2023 – Haynes passed one of the tightest handles of the event. His ability to breakdown defenders, collapsed the defense, allowing him to deliver accurate passes to his teammates, off the bounce.
