The PrepHoops Circuit made its long-awaited return to the West Coast this weekend. The Hustle Season Kickoff took place from Saturday, March 27th through Sunday, March 28th, and featured 45 programs ranging from 15 to 17U. The event also featured several guys that could straight up shut people down. In this article, we take a look at the top defenders from the event.

Jacques Williams Jr Jacques Williams Jr 5'9" | PG Arbor View | 2022 State NV 5’9 PG Hard 2 Guard 2022 (#34PHN 2022) (featured image) - I’ll take JWJ’s on-ball defense any day. Williams has molded himself into a player that can completely disrupt opposing teams’ gameplans. It starts with a simple willingness and is combined with good lateral quickness, a high IQ, and good instincts. He has solidified himself as one of the top overall defenders in the state of Nevada.

Malachi Murrell 6’2 SF Gamepoint 2022 (#112PHSC 2022) - As always Murrell was long, versatile, and athletic. Those tools alone, were enough to allow him to defend multiple positions and cause havoc with his deflections. Murrell is an intriguing prospect because of his freakishly long wingspan which allows him to play taller than his 6’2 height.
