6’2 ‘22 Butler Area (PA)/PK Flash
The dynamic playmaking guard showed that he can initiate offense with ease. Carney’s instincts when his attacking and finishing abilities around the rim are at another level. He was able to score the basketball from a variety of spots on the floor and has extended range from the three-point line. Carney also presented his athleticism on the defensive end.
Keith Mency 6’2 ’21 Hudson Catholic (NJ)/NJ Beats
Mency showed that he is one of the better available shot-making guards in the tri-state area this weekend. He has microwave capabilities from behind the arc at a high volume. Mency is assertive on the defensive end also and applies sound pressure and can turn defense to offense rather quickly. Mency helps win ball games on both ends of the floor and has a winning DNA.
Joe Scrivanich 6’4 ‘22 Bergen Catholic (NJ)/East Coast Cyclones
Scrivanich is a budding wing who has a chance to an intriguing prospect with his blend of size, length, and athleticism. Scrivanich plays with a calm demeanor and doesn’t seem to be phased by adversity. His biggest impact on the game is felt when he is behind the arc, he has a smooth release on his shot and can really get it going when in rhythm. He also does a nice job of running the floor and finishing in a variety of ways around the basket.
Jon Spatola 5’8 ’22 Marlboro (NJ)/Jersey Force
Spatola was unconscious from 3 knocking them at a high clip. He plays with a chip on his shoulder and was able to get into the lane at will and score against contact. He was in the right places at the right times and took advantage of what the defenses gave him.
Nix Varano 6’1 ‘22 La Salle College HS (PA)/Philly Pride Gold
Varano is a pesky two-way shotmaker who provides a spark when he steps onto the floor. He can play on or off the ball and gets to the right spots on the floor offensively. Varano can make quick decisions and has a nice feel for the game.
Dan Vessey 6’3 ‘23 Hun School (NJ)/NYL Select
Vessey is a high IQ shotmaker who leaves his footprint on the game on both sides of the floor. If his feet are set from three there’s a good chance he is converting from deep. He also sits in a stance on defense and uses his angles. He was able to obtain steals and transition that into offense.
Nick Wilson 6’6 Sherwood HS (MD)/Team STAT
Wilson is a long wiry shooter with a high release point. His ability to play 3-5 on either end makes him an intriguing prospect. Wilson ran the floor and rebounded on both ends. He is able to defend on the block and out on the perimeter and his length allows him to cover ground and congest passing lanes. Sky’s the limit for Wilson once he gets into a college strength program and he fills out his frame.
