What new names from Illinois put themselves on the map this past weekend at the #GritSZNKickoff?  We dive into some of the best right here!

 

Jakori Adams (Rush Academy 15U)

Adams opened our eyes on Saturday morning with a 23 point performance.  The 6’0” athletic two guard from Belleville West plays with a high-motor relentlessly attacking the defense.  Over and over again took it to the hole where he converted difficult layups.  The 2024 prospect put himself on our radar with a strong performance and we will definitely continue to track the 2024 wing.

 

Austin Ambrose Austin Ambrose 6'9" | PF Batavia | 2022 State IL & Luke Tarnow (HIT 17U)

We put these two big men together from HIT as both have legit size for the center position.  Ambrose stands at 6’9” from Batavia.  He has good strength and the lefty flashed feel for scoring around the hoop.  Tarnow is listed at 6’8” from Benet.  Can step out and knock down a shot and was an effective rim protector.  Very interested to see the development of these two over the next several months.

 

Martez Rhodes (Champaign Heat 17U)

Rhodes made major noise in his debut with Champaign Heat.  The Danville 6’3” shooting guard is
