Here’s a look at top performers. Several players have already been named to the All tournament teams so those players will be excluded here.
Tahj Meadows, Louisville Storm – Described as a beast inside and on the boards, Meadows had a good weekend for the Storm group that finished 2-2 on the weekend. Meadows played a small role for Southern this season but is going to need to step up in a big way if the Trojans are going to gain some relevancy in the 502.
Teagan Moore Teagan Moore 6'4" | SF Owen County | 2023 State KY , Griffin Elite Hardewig – Moore went scoreless on Friday night but bounced back with a 30+ point game on Saturday morning where he had as many points as the opposing team did. Teagan is a big wing who showed some improved athleticism this weekend and is a name to track this summer. He’s got a chance to impress if he proves he can guard consistently.
Nick Spalding Nick Spalding 6'0" | PG Paul Laurence Dunbar | 2023 State KY , Griffin Elite Bordas – Fresh off a strong Sophomore season, Spalding was back to his old tricks in his first weekend of AAU. A shooter with deep range, Nick is a threat to pull up from anywhere within 35 feet. The knock on Nick right now is that he can be quite ball dominant but the Bordas group is deep and talented which will make Spalding a more efficient scorer heading into next season.
Ondre Wicks Ondre Wicks 6'5" | SF Western | 2023 State KY , Griffin Elite Rogers – If you’re looking for a player to buy stock in, Wicks is your guy. With his athleticism and length, Ondre is nowhere near his ceiling as a prospect. He blocked an opponent off the top of the square on Saturday that had the entire court impressed. He still has to improve his handle and outside shooting to become a complete wing but he’s got a chance to turn some heads this summer if he continues his play.
