Kam Jones Kam Jones 6'1" | CG Central | 2022 State KY , Louisville Storm Ellis – Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to see Coach Ellis’ team play live but Kam led the team to a 3-1 record and their only loss was to the other Louisville Storm team in the event. Jones went for an average of 15 points per game over the weekend. The Central Junior is one of the better off the radar players in the 502.
Sam Powell Sam Powell 6'7" | PF Oldham County | 2022 State KY , Louisville Storm Mucker – Powell is a big shooter who helped the Mucker team to a 4-0 record this weekend. Powell averaged 14.5 points and 9.5 rebounds over the course of the weekend. Sam has a big summer ahead as Oldham County’s system doesn’t really let any one player have huge scoring numbers. With his size and shooting, the 6’7 forward could turn some heads this summer.
Justin Becker Justin Becker 6'6" | SF Robertson County | 2022 State KY , Griffin Elite – Called an “elite passer” by our Scotty Burgess, Becker averaged 16 points and double figure rebounds over a 4-0 weekend. Over the past 2 years, Justin has transformed his body and improved his lateral quickness. On offense, his skill set allows him to score all over the floor and he knows how to use his big frame to get to the bucket and finish against bigger defenders.
Tanner Walton Tanner Walton 6'3" | CG Lexington Christian | 2022 State KY , Griffin Elite – Tanner averaged 11 points and several assists over the weekend and was the hero of opening night as he swatted the Alabama Celtics’ final shot then won the game with a tip in at the buzzer. Walton is healthy after an ankle injury slowed him down some at LCA and you can see the improvement in his defense as he’s able to move better laterally now than he was for the Eagles.
Landon Huff Landon Huff 6'2" | CG Trinity (Whitesville) | 2023 State KY , Griffin Elite White – Huff hails from one of the smallest schools in the state in Whitesville Trinity but he showed he can compete at a high level as he averaged 18 points per game as a wing scorer this weekend. His team struggled with close losses but it wasn’t due to lack of effort from Landon. He’s a name that small colleges should learn.
Victor Lado Victor Lado 6'8" | PF Pleasure Ridge Park | 2022 State KY , Louisville Storm Mucker – Lado is one of the names at PRP who doesn’t always get a ton of shine due to the depth of talent on their roster. He’s an agile forward who can do a little bit of everything on offense and he is an above average rebounder who can raise up and pull down big rebounds in traffic. Lado is a name to track this summer.
Jeremiah Israel Jeremiah Israel 6'3" | SG Lloyd Memorial | 2023 State KY , Kentucky Defenders – A Junior from Lloyd Memorial, Jeremiah had a 20+ point game for the Defenders and helped them to a 2-2 record for the weekend. Jeremiah is a very bouncy wing who is able to get to the rim on offense and can guard multiple positions on the defensive end.
