Tyrese Cannon Tyrese Cannon 6'3" | SF Leavenworth | 2022 KS , 6’5 Wing, Leavenworth, 816 Varsity: The team was out in Lincoln this weekend but I did not get a chance to see the explosive Cannon out on the court due to illness. There is no doubt that he will come out with a bang in his first opportunity of action. Cannon has begun to develop a really nice intermediate game and build more of a wide skill set on the floor to go along with his immense athletic ability and electric plays with and without the ball. The more he develops that mid tier to low post game as he grows, the more lethal he will be, as he is already terrific behind the 3 point line and scoring in transition.
Kaleb Becker Kaleb Becker 6'4" | SF Abilene | 2022 State KS , 6’4 Forward, Abilene: Becker is a versatile big with great step out ability to catch and shoot from 15 ft on out. He also is a great rebounder and passer out of the post. Becker put together a monster high school season, stuffing the stat sheet everywhere on efficient percentages. His big frame and quickness combination make him really tough to guard and his ability to get his shot off over size and length allows him to get quality looks all the time. I’m excited to see him out on the grassroots scene.
Noah Hastert Noah Hastert 6'6" | C Cair Paravel | 2022 State KS , 6’7 Center, Cair Paravel, SSA Elite White: Hastert missed this past weekend, but his squad finished with a 3-1 record out in Lincoln, so seeing what the team looks like with the addition of Hastert will be intriguing. He will give them and inside out presence on the offensive end and more rim protection in the painted area. He will bring a completely different dynamic to the team and should even make them more competitive in big time matchups.
Dameion Hatten Dameion Hatten 6'3" | CG Sedan | 2022 State KS , 6’3 Guard, Sedan, Buddy Buckets KS: With only being able to see the Oklahoma Buddy Buckets squad, I am still waiting and excited to check out Hatten on the big stage with the Kansas group. He dominated on the small school scene with his athleticism and open court scoring ability, so am interested to see it translate over. He has the handle and down hill scoring ability to be highly effective and give the team a great athlete on the perimeter to cause havoc for defenses.
Elijah Brooks Elijah Brooks 6'3" | CG Topeka West | 2022 State KS , 6’2 Guard, Topeka West: Brooks had a terrific season for the state runner ups out at Topeka West. Much like Hatten, he is an athletic talent that thrives getting down hill in both half court and transition situations. As a ball handler he has great strength and is really good in straight line drives and does not get knocked off much. He has an improving jump shot and is steady from out there. Have not heard much from him yet on the Grassroots scene so interested to see him live.
