The massive 12 court facility was not only impressive in size but it was impressive with the teams that made the trek. There were so many players across the 3 days tournament that proved why they were so highly recruited and ranked. There were also a few players that made a case for themselves as stock risers and added to their recruitment.
6’10 PF Zach Keller Zach Keller 6'9" | PF ThunderRidge | 2022 State #81 Nation CO | Utah Prospects |
Still not 100% as you could see him limp around on occasion Zach at 80% is better than most bigs in the country. Coming fresh off of a State Championship in Colorado he was a force that showed of his motor. Zach showed off his motor over the 3-day tournament running down the floor and simply playing at a high level on both ends. Strong finishes with both hands. he was bruising opponents and cleaning up the glass on both ends of the floor. His hardhat mentality was key to his team’s success as he blocks shots, absorbs contact and takes charges on guards and bigs a like. The offers will continue to stack up for this young man. what also set him apart was his shooting ability from deep as he was able to give his team some pop from outside this past weekend.
6’5 G Keyonte George | Southern Assault |
Forget his position this kid can score. He had a few people in the crown and on a few teams talking trash and that was bad news because he took it to another level. Keyonte has a beautiful and effortless looking shot from deep and I mean deep. He makes it so hard on defenders and the coverage teams are trying to play on him. He was snaking the screens all night and picking teams apart. When he would get in the lanes, he is so quick to explode off of one and two feet. He is a quick leaper. His physicality was impressive as he could shoulder check defenders off of him in the lanes. Crossing left to right with quickness allows him to shake defenders. The battle to nab Keyonte is going to be intense, the kid can go.
6’6 W Joseph Pinion | Arkansas Hawks |
The University of Arkansas commit is legit. Match-up issue all day long for teams as he roams the entire court and finds spots to score at will. baseline killer with his jumpers and step-backs. Joseph can drill them from deep with little room as he is being contested. Underrated athletic ability as he challenges defenders on both ends of the floor. Moves well and can hold his own covering 1-3. Joseph is a knock-down shooter off of kick-outs but can out it on the floor and score. He is serviceable handling the ball as well. Plays his tail off defensively, Arkansas got themselves a good one.
6’8 W Julian Phillips | Upward Stars |
With 20+ offers Julian has been working on his jumper. When he is in-route to the basket he makes up his mind and he attacks. He keeps it simple with his straight-line drives. He was about a 15 & 15 type of weekend against some of the most elite players in the country. He is a problem trying to box out and put a body on as he is active on both ends. Attacks the “o” boards like crazy and is able to get back. The Top 30 prospect in the country kept getting better each game. Excited to see him again moving forward.
6’9 F Jaxon Kohler Jaxon Kohler 6'9" | PF Southern California Academy | 2022 #49 Nation CA-S | Utah Prospects |
Most skilled big at this event as he dazzled with his various moves on the blocks. His elite footwork had onlookers in awe. Jaxon was a double-double monster all weekend. The most impressive package he displayed was his one-foot fall away jumper that was nearly flawless all weekend as he used it against bigger and longer players. Jaxon also added a new notch to his belt that was absolutely impressive and that was his vision. He was able to find his counterpart on the other block so well all weekend long. He kicked it out to open defenders and it just opened up the game overall for his entire team. His impact on the game at the high-post or low block is elite. Jaxon will continue to stack up those offers. If you’re not on him. the time is now.
