Continue ReadingThe middle of April signifies the spring AAU season is in full swing. Players and teams are preparing for weekend tournaments as they look to improve their stocks to coaches. DBA Elite had practice yesterday as some players were able to show off their complete game. Here are the top prospects from the DBA Elite practice session.
Adam Harris Adam Harris 6'0" | PG New Egypt | 2022 State NJ , PG New Egypt 2022
Harris had a strong showing as he was able to display his offensive versatility. He is explosive with the ball in his hands as he was routinely grabbing the rim in warmups. Harris attacks the basket with a purpose and is a good finisher around the rim. He is an underrated passer and moves his feet well on the defensive end. Harris’ ability to score the ball in multiple ways is something that will benefit him greatly this spring and summer.
Robert Eaves Robert Eaves 6'5" | PF Hightstown | 2023 State NJ , 6’4 PF Hightstown 2023
Eaves had a good showing as he demonstrated his growing offensive game. The 6’4 forward has a strong frame, which he used to finish through traffic around the basket. Eaves looked comfortable handling the ball on the perimeter as he knocked down a pair of triples in one-on-one drills. He fought for rebounds throughout the practice and slid his feet well on the defensive end. If Eaves is able to prove to be a consistent shooter from distance, than he could be a name to watch out of Mercer County in the 2023 class.
Ryan Kuuskvere, 6’5 SF/PF Hopewell Valley 2022
Kuuskvere was one of the top forward prospects yesterday as he showed some ability to play both forward spots. The 6’5 forward can put the ball on the floor and has a nice touch around the basket. Kuuskvere is also able to finish above the rim and is able to shoot over his defender. He fights for rebounds on both ends of the floor and moves well within the flow of the offense. Kuuskvere is on the verge of a breakout season for Hopewell Valley and it’ll start in the AAU season with DBA Elite.
Joe DeBlasio Joe DeBlasio 6'0" | PG St. John Vianney | 2023 State NJ , 5’11 PG St. John Vianney 2023
DeBlasio was dynamic throughout the practice as he set the tone for his team during the scrimmage portion. The 5’11 guard has a tight handle and was able to beat his man off the bounce with consistency. DeBlasio has a nice release on his jumper and makes smart decisions with the ball in his hands. He boxed out well during the rebounding drills and was unafraid to stick his nose in on defense. DeBlasio’s willingness to play at both ends of the floor is only going to improve his stock this AAU season for DBA Elite.
Jake Heitzner Jake Heitzner 6'3" | SF Manalapan | 2023 State NJ , 6’3 SF Mater Dei Prep 2023
Heitzner had a strong showing throughout the practice and his momentum should carry over into the weekend. The 6’3 wing can put the ball on the floor and has the ability to finish with either hand. Heitzner’s strong frame allows him to draw contact on his way to the bucket and is unafraid to get physical down low. His range extends to the three-point line and is an underrated rebounder. Heitzner is a strong wing who is just hitting the surface of his potential.
Other Prospects to Watch:
Anthony Loscalzo, PG Monsignor Farrell 2023
Connor Topping, 6’1 CG Princeton Day School 2022
Quadir Linent, 6’2 SG/SF Rancocas Valley 2023
Mike Jean, 6’0 PG Notre Dame 2021
Harmehar Chhabra, 6’4 SF/PF South Brunswick 2023
