Division 1

Ann Arbor Huron vs. River Rouge

Devin Womack Devin Womack 6'2" | CG Ann Arbor Huron | 2021 State MI (2021, CG, Ann Arbor Huron)

When Womack plays well, so does Ann Arbor Huron. His ability to attack the rim and get buckets will be huge in this contest.

Legend Geeter Legend Geeter 6'7" | PF River Rouge | 2021 State MI (2021, PF, River Rouge)

Geeter may be the most versatile player in Michigan. He’s a terrific defensive stopper and can cover multiple positions.

PREDICTION

This is an outstanding matchup. Both teams are so tough both physically and mentally. I expect a tight game late into the 4th quarter.

Ann Arbor Huron

Warren De La Salle Collegiate vs. Macomb Dakota

LOCATION

KEY PLAYERS

Linden Holder Linden Holder 6'0" | PG De La Salle | 2021 State MI (2021, PG, Warren De La Salle)

Holder has had a terrific senior season and has proven to be an elite point guard. He has to be in any MVP conversation.

Joshua Hines Joshua Hines 6'2" | PG Macomb Dakota | 2021 State MI (2021, PG, Macomb Dakota)

Hines is a bona fide bucket getter that can go off at any time. De La Salle will have to account for him on every possession.

PREDICTION

There are a lot of superb scorers and talented young players. De La Salle’s depth and ability to play at multiple paces will be critical.

Warren De La Salle Collegiate

Grand Rapids Forest Hills Northern vs. East Lansing

KEY PLAYERS

Erickson is a lights out shooter. His shooting and ball handling will have a direct influence on the outcome of this game.

Marcus Wourman Marcus Wourman 5'10" | PG East Lansing | 2021 State MI (2021, PG, East Lansing)

Wourman has been often underrated as an overall player and prospect. He deserves to have his name mentioned with the best. He could hammer that point home with a win.

PREDICTION

This is a game filled with great individual matchups. Whichever backcourt has the better day, probably wins the game.

Grand Rapids Forest Hills Northern

Grand Blanc vs. Orchard Lake St. Mary’s

KEY PLAYERS

Ty Rodgers Ty Rodgers 6'6" | SF Grand Blanc | 2022 #34 Nation IN (2022, SF, Grand Blanc)

In my opinion, Rodgers is one of the most gifted basketball players that the state has ever seen. He’s surrounded by a talented roster and the combo is good enough to go all the way.

Julian Roper Julian Roper 6'4" | PG St. Mary's Prep | 2021 State #137 Nation MI (2021, PG, Orchard Lake St. Mary’s)

Roper is an elite prospect on a national scale. He’s almost impossible to slow at the high school level.

PREDICTION

Here’s a thought: We could be watching this year’s state champ against next years title winner. This game could come down to the last possession. I think OLSM just has too much veteran firepower.
