College Commitment: Caden Davis (2021 Sherwood)
The time was right for Caden Davis Caden Davis 6'0" | CG Sherwood | 2021 State OR to decide on where he wanted to play college basketball. The sharp-shooting 6-foot, 185-pound guard had whittled down his options down to two schools and it was just a matter of going through everything with his family. On Sunday night, Davis made it official by announcing he was committing to Pacific.
“I like Coach Lunt a lot and his play style because it will help me get a lot of threes up and they think I can really succeed in their program,” Davis said. “Also it’s closer to home and I get to play baseball there as well.”
Davis made his decision for Pacific over Pacific Lutheran, his other finalist. He was one of the most prolific three-point shooters in 6A last season, averaging 2.8 threes made per game which ranked fifth in the state. Davis hit threes at a clip over 38 percent as well and his range often extended beyond the three-point line.
The last time we chatted with Davis he noted that he’s been working on his ability to get to the basket and he also notes that he wants to improve his strength and conditioning to best fit into Pacific’s high octane offense. He notes that he is undecided on his major at this time.
Davis is the first in-state member of the Class of 2021 to commit to Pacific. He currently ranks as the #46 player in the PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2021 rankings.
