Class AAAA – All Sophomore First Team
Jack Janicki Jack Janicki 6'4" | SG White Bear Lake | 2023 State #277 Nation MN of White Bear Lake (6’4 SG). Jack took major steps forward as a prospect and a player this year scoring 20 points a game for the Bears. WBL struggled down the stretch but Jack did help the team to a win over 2nd place in state finisher CDH this year.
Sam Musungu of Andover (6’0 PG). Sam had an fantastic season including the memorable Spring Lake Park game where he exploded for 30. That win and the Osseo win seemed to be trademark victories as Sam led the team with 17 points a game this year.
Chiddi Obiazor of Eden Prairie (6’5 SF). The Eagles were almost a totally new team but still tough and competitive. Chiddi’s 16 points a game led the Eagles to a better year than many thought they would have.
Max Shikenjanksi of Stillwater (6’2 SG). Max’s ability to playmaker kept the Ponies in several games against tough teams and helped them earn wins over Park and White Bear Lake among others. He scored a sophomore Class AAAA high 24 points a game this season.
Nolan Winter Nolan Winter 7'0" | PF Lakeville North | 2023 State #98 Nation MN of Lakeville North (6’8 PF). A skilled piece of the Panthers scoring 11-12 points a game (plus a top rebounder for the Panthers) leading to a 13-7 season as North continues to take a step back towards state title contender status. Winter is a top prospect in the 2023 class as well.
Class AAAA – All Sophomore Second Team
Jalen Cain Jalen Cain 6'3" | SF Minnetonka | 2023 State MN of Minnetonka (6’3 SG). Cain was one of the top underclassmen scorers in the state of Minnesota this year leading the Skippers at 18 a game. Few could stay in front of the strong, skilled wing.
Ben Kopetzki Ben Kopetzki 6'0" | PG Andover | 2023 State MN of Andover (5’10 PG). Andover put together a really nice season winning 13 of 19 games. They continue to set a tone for the future they are building and the 15 points a game from Kopetzki is a huge part of the future
Alex Mattes Alex Mattes 6'3" | SG East Ridge | 2023 State MN of East Ridge (6’3 SG). The Raptors won a dozen games this year and Mattes was often the second go-to player on the offensive end. Alex scored a respectable 12 plus a game in SEC play this season.
Dylan Omweno Dylan Omweno 6'0" | PG Eastview | 2023 State MN of Apple Valley (6’0 PG). Dylan has had an outstanding 12 months of basketball. Scored 11.2 a game as the Eagles playmaker and continues to take steps to being one of the best 2023 guards.
Emmanuel Schmitter Emmanuel Schmitter 6'3" | SG Eagan | 2023 State MN of Eagan (6’3 Wing). All conference player that gave Eagan 13 plus points, over six boards, and a couple steals a game. A tough, do everything kind of matured player.
Class AAAA – All Sophomore Third Team
Blake Burmeister of Owatonna (6’0 PG). A key piece of the Owatonna youth movement that pushed the Huskies to state . Averaged ten points a game.
Oscar Khazon Oscar Khazon 6'1" | PG Eagan | 2023 State MN of Eagan (6’1 PG). If you give this young man two dribbles you are in trouble. Excellent young playmaker that scored 13 points a game.
Cade Osterman of Elk River (6’1 PG). Chad scored 15 a game to lead the Elks in points produced this year.
Lincoln Palbicki Lincoln Palbicki 6'10" | C Maple Grove | 2023 State MN of Maple Grove (6’10 C). Lincoln was the Crimson starting center averaging seven points and four boards a game for a state team.
Soren Richardson of Northfield (6’2 PG). Scored 13.2 points a game leading Northfield to a better year than expected. Dealt with some injuries but had a strong year.
Class AAAA – All Sophomore Fourth Team
Khalif Bettis Khalif Bettis 6'6" | SF Burnsville | 2023 State MN of Apple Valley (6’3 SF). The youth of the Eagles looks promising and Bettis scoring 9-10 a game was and will be a big part of it.
Nick Evanson of Brainerd (6’2 SG). A starting wing that averaged 8.5 points and 4.5 rebounds a game for a 14-3 Brainerd team.
Michael Kastelic Michael Kastelic 6'1" | PG Duluth East | 2023 State MN of Duluth East (6’1 PG). The Greyhounds 6th Man scored seven points a game for a state tournament team.
JJ Ware JJ Ware 6'6" | SF Park Center | 2023 State MN of Park Center (6’5 SF). Ware came off the bench of one of the best teams in Class AAAA and scored five points a contest.
Max Wilson of Hopkins (6’3 Guard). Wilson came off the Royals bench scoring six a contest playing both guard spots. Hopkins was top ten for much of the year.
Class AAAA – All Sophomore Fifth Team
Spencer Hall of Wayzata (6’2 SG). Hall was another young Wayzata player that came off the bench and added depth to a really good Trojans team.
Adam Jenkins Adam Jenkins 6'9" | C Moorhead | 2023 State MN of Moorhead (6’7 C). Spuds frontcourt player that averaged six a game.
Jack Misgen Jack Misgen 6'2" | SG White Bear Lake | 2023 State MN of White Bear Lake (6’2 SG). Misgen scored nine points a game this year for White Bear Lake as a starter.
Hayden Tibbits Hayden Tibbits 5'11" | PG Wayzata | 2023 State MN of Wayzata (5’10 PG). Tibbits came off the Trojan bench for much of the year adding depth to both guard spots and playing a solid role.
Raoul Vaidya Raoul Vaidya 6'0" | PG Maple Grove | 2023 State MN of Maple Grove (5’11 PG). Took over the main ball handler role late in the year and helped get the Crimson to the final four.
