Tons of top prospects were showcased here from classes ranging from 2025 all the way to 2021. Here we take a look at 8 prospects that stood out to me.
Christian Flowers – Ben Davis – 5’11 2022 PG: Flowers is a smaller yet very quick lead guard. Pushes the tempo a ton but never plays out of control when he does. Can use his speed and quickness to get to the rim and for the most part finished pretty well. Gave his team some solid looks on the kick-out and was good about feeding the post. Did not get a chance to see what his outside jumper looks like but if he has that in his arsenal, he can be pretty tough to stop some times.
Jake Chapman Jake Chapman 6'3" | SF Tri-Central | 2022 State IN – Tri-Central – 6’3 2022 SF: Chapman is a taller wing with a strong lower body. He was scoring from all over this game and did a really good job in mixing it up. Showed off his range with some long 3s and was real aggressive using his body and scoring on the drive. First time I got to see him play in person and was real impressed with just how strong he is. Also think his court vision is a little underrated as well as he made some real sharp passes throughout. Overall, was just real impressed with Chapman here and think he has a ton of potential to be an off-ball threat.
Eli Edwards Eli Edwards 6'6" | PF Northwestern | 2022 State IN – Northwestern – 6’6 2022 PF: Edwards is a strong, bigger post player. Early on, his defense really stood out to me as he defends the post real well and has a good amount of shot blocking ability. On offense, he plays like a true post player with the ability to step out and hit that baseline jumper. Thinks just a little too much with the ball in his hands but is good about going up strong with it. Overall, real solid showing from Edwards here think there is a ton of upside here.
Tony Hardin – Bremen – 6’2 2022 SG: Hardin is a long and lanky wing. Had one of the more longer body frames I saw on the day and was pretty solid athletically. True wing player with handles to run the point from time to time. Has a quick trigger on his shot and his long arms make it almost impossible for his outside jumper to be blocked. Needs to work on adding weight but there looks to be something there with Hardin that has not been unleased yet.
Sam Ridgeway – Tipton – 6’8 2022 PF: Ridgeway is a bigger post player that plays like a powerhouse. Strong as you can get and can stretch the floor a little bit. Looked to be at his best with his back against the basket where he could have the opportunity to go to work. Scores very well around the rim and always used his power and explosiveness in that area. Also had a thunderous put back dunk in the game I watched. Overall, Ridgeway is a powerful forward that is so physically advanced than most players that ever share the floor the with him.
Rhett Harmon – Columbus North – 5’7 2022 PG: Harmon is a smaller lead guard that see the floor well. Plays more like a true point guard as he looked to rather facilitate than to score himself. However, he can indeed score as he had a really nice turnaround 15fter that looked real good from the moment of his release. His size isn’t really an issue when I watched him as he looked smart enough to know what he can and cannot do. Smart player that plays to his strengths.
Connor Hussong Connor Hussong 6'3" | SG Tipton | 2023 State IN – Oak Hill – 6’2 2023 SG: Hussong is a lanky, left-handed shooting guard that has really looked to have improved his overall game. Real solid outside shooter and noticed that he works real hard off the ball to get an open look. Great ball handles and uses those well on the drive to the basket. Just a balanced player overall that can slash and shoot. Solid showing from Hussong here playing against the older players.
Nate Powell – Tipton – 6’4 2022 SF: Powell is a taller wing that plays so strong and physical. Very smooth playing style and uses the smoothness well around the rim. Solid on the 15fter but at his best when he can drive to the rim. Tough defender as well and has that “lock down” mentality on that end. Powell just plays hard on every possession.
