KJ Debrick KJ Debrick 6'7" | C Springfield Lanphier | 2021 State IL (Illinois Hoopstars)
The positive momentum keeps rolling along for this Springfield Lanphier center. He is headed to prep school next year and after what we saw this weekend looks like a mid-major player after that. The wide bodied five man is in the best shape of his career and it is showing with dominant play inside. The true five man plays with power, excellent footwork, and touch around the basket. Even stretched it out looking more comfortable as a shooter. High level area rebounder that snatched boards over and over again in traffic. Love the way plays physical inside grabbing rebounds and putting his body on others boxing out.
Christian Meeks Christian Meeks 6'6" | SF Homewood Flossmoor | 2022 State IL (Illinois Hoopstars)
Meeks is a high energy combo forward that brings it each and every time he hits the floor. Tenacity is off the charts with this Homewood Flossmoor product. He works well out of the high-post attacking with a couple quick dribbles, gets out in transition, and excels at crashing the offensive glass for second chance opportunities. Versatile defender that low-majors need to be monitoring!
Donovan Jones Donovan Jones 6'0" | PG Solorio | 2022 IL (Illinois Hoopstars)
Jones had a rock solid event for the Hoopstars. The Solorio combo guard knocked down pull ups from mid-range and three. Got to the rim where he converted reverse layups along with other acrobatic finishes. Worked well when playing on the ball as a passer in pick/roll situations.
AJ Redd AJ Redd 6'3" | SG St. Ignatius | 2022 State IL (Illinois Hoopstars)
Slick handling St. Ignatius two guard had it working in several games we saw throughout the weekend. Has an innate ability to find the crease in the defense and exploit it with slithering drives through traffic. Got quite a few points in transition and rebounded pretty well from his guard spot. Low-majors and high D2s keep him on our radar.
Xavier Amos Xavier Amos 6'7" | PF Whitney Young | 2022 State #233 Nation IL (Team Rose)
Amos has been one of the top stock risers over the last few months. The 6’7” four man has broad shoulders and an athletic build. He displayed an inside/outside game with the way he knocked in jumpers with regularity along with using his quickness around the hoop for second chance buckets on the offensive glass. Was very active defensively with his hands getting steals and as a rim protector. Trending as a mid-major target.
Tye Banks Tye Banks 6'4" | SG Springfield Lanphier | 2022 IL (Team Rose)
Banks is a shooting guard from Springfield Lanphier that has been a mainstay as one of the best central Illinois prospects in the 2022 class since entering high school. Strong bodied wing that gets to the line at a high rate with his physical drives. Good scorer in transition and rebounds well for his position.
Patrick Robinson Patrick Robinson 6'4" | SG Oswego East | 2022 State IL . (M14)
The top 20 prospect from Oswego East showed flashes of what makes him a D1 target with his play for M14. Powerfully built two guard that can handle it. Was at his best getting to the rim off the bounce for scores at the cup finishing with creative layups.
Tavari Johnson Tavari Johnson 6'0" | PG Lyons Township | 2022 State #171 Nation IL (Young & Reckless)
Big fan of this point guard from Lyons Township. On the smaller side, but he makes up for it with major game. He is a ball screen savant with the way he operates around them in such a key area of today’s game. Reads the defense and makes the correct decision almost every time. Sound passer that puts it right where his teammate can do damage. Also is a more than adequate three point and mid-range shooter off the bounce as he proved knocking them down with regularity. Mid-major and low-majors should be all over this kid who will win you games in March!
Xavier Lewis Xavier Lewis 6'7" | PF Tf South | 2022 State IL (Young & Reckless)
Lewis is a bouncy power forward from TF South that is oozing with upside. Some of it started to breakout at Chi-Town Tip Off. The 6’8” post is super explosive finishing around the hoop whether it is tip slams, alley-oops, or finishing dump off passes. Has some potential as a mid-range shooter showcasing solid shooting form. Defensively he protected the rim and used his length to impact the game all over the floor. D1 prospect showed a lot of intrigue over the weekend.
Mikqwon Jones Mikqwon Jones 6'3" | SF Michelle Clark | 2022 State IL (Illinois Heat)
Jones is a thick bodied combo forward that showed more perimeter skills than we had previously seen out of him. The Michelle Clark forward got to the line on a regular basis with aggressive takes where he often converted and-1s. Plus rebounder as well from his wing spot.
Sulaimon Agiste Sulaimon Agiste 6'8" | C Michelle Clark | 2022 State IL (Illinois Heat)
Agiste has so much to like with his size and length. Still hasn’t added much weight since we first saw him so his strength might hold him back initially. He was impressive finishing with athleticism around the hoop. Fluid five man that runs the floor and has an emerging offensive game including a hook shot. Defense has always been his calling card as a rim protector and high pointing rebounds. Worth a look at the low-major level as red shirt candidate.
