While everyone is playing GM, AD and Coach we have already seen him at work. One of the first players he has offered at the helm is a local kid.
6’4 CG Collin Chandler Collin Chandler 6'5" | CG Farmington | 2022 State #28 Nation UT | Farmington High School | Utah Prospects
Collin had a great showing in Dallas that garnered attention from schools like Xavier and that weekend Utah hired it’s new coach. In just a matter of days Collin received an offer from the Utes. This might lead to the Utes going after more local players. While the recruiting at Utah State was a bit unpredictable, we are already seeing a change with Coach Smith at “The U”.
6’9 C Malick Diallo Malick Diallo 6'9" | C Wasatch Academy | 2024 State #131 Nation UT | Juan Diego Catholic | Jimmer Elite
It’s been a few month since we have seen Malick play man as he is usually sitting in a 2-3 zone in high school. He looks good playing man to man. Malick is a load down on the blocks. The 2024 prospect has the raw tools to have success. Could rack up an offer this Spring or Summer. There is no doubt that he is a D1 prospect, the issue is always who is willing to make that 1st offer. Had a dominating weekend in Cedar City.
6’0 Javon Lee | Kearns High School | TMC
Javon played this past weekend and he looked uber athletic especially in the open flor as he can shift himself from one side to other with quickness. That euro-step was on point and what caught everyone’s eyes was his ability to get up and throw it down. Look for him and the rest of the young guys that are now juniors and seniors at Kearns to have a breakout season.
6’9 PF Jaxon Kohler Jaxon Kohler 6'9" | PF Southern California Academy | 2022 #49 Nation CA-S | American Fork High School | Utah Prospects
The amount of attention that Jaxon gets is insane. It is rare to see players get doubled and triple teamed at the high level against other shoe teams.. Jaxon is collapsing defenses. Oddly enough he finds ways to finish against multiple defenders. When he starts to kick it and possible get it back he will add another aspect to his game. Jaxon has a deep bag and it is interesting as he holds an offer from some major programs now that Utah has a new man at the helm. Look for Jaxon to add more to his game this Spring playing with his local team.
