The players listed below are the five best players in the area entering the 2021-22 basketball season.
Chance Dandridge Chance Dandridge 5'10" | SG Winterboro | 2023 State AL | 6-0 G | Winterboro HS
Dandrigde led all of Area 8 last season in total scoring. The guard averaged 14.2 points per game and shot 56 percent from the floor while shooting 32 percent from three point range and 59 percent at the free throw line.
Dandridge is a phenomenal shooter that can score from anywhere on the court. He also excels in forcing turnovers on the defensive end.
Brandon Hunter | 5-7 PG | Winterboro HS
The freshman averaged 7.2 points per game last season. He shot 50 percent from the floor, 30 percent from three point range and 64 percent at the free throw line.
Entering his sophomore season, Hunter could be a player to watch for once the 2021-22 season begins.
He has great awareness on the court and is a solid defensive player given his class.
Jakendrick Tuck | 5-11 F | Talladega County Central HS
Tuck was one of the best post players in all of Area 8 in 2020-21.
The big man is great at setting the pick and roll but can also take a pass down low and get to the rim.
On defense, Tuck is a sensational defender that can force his man to heave up an unwanted shot.
Dawson Mosley | 6-3 C | Winterboro HS
Mosley finished as the top center in Area 8 last season.
The incoming senior is great in the paint and is a solid rim protector on defense. In 2020-21, he averaged 4.1 points per game but is a force on getting rebounds.
Zion Robinson | 5-9 G | Talladega County Central HS
Robinson was a terrific scorer for his school last season. At 5’9″, he excels at playing the guard position to his best ability.
The incoming senior has a nice drive to the basket and is great at finding open teammates. On defense, he is sensational at forcing turnovers and scoring on the fast break.
