Area 7 in Class 1A could be one of the best areas on the basketball court in 2021-22.

Between Autaugaville High, Billingsley High, Ellwood Christian Academy, Maplesville and Verbena, some un-noticed players from this area are beginning to gain steam.

Here are the top players from Area 7.

Trevon Blackmon | 6-8 F | Maplesville HS

In 2020, Blackmon finished fourth in the region and on the team in total scoring. The incoming senior scored a total of 76 points in the 2020-21 season and averaged 5.4 points per game.

At the forward position, Blackmon is an excellent big man that can pound the glass and grab rebounds at both ends of the court. On defense, the forward is great at forcing the ball handler into his area and taking control by forcing turnovers and blocking shots.

Jakavion Jackson | 5-8 G | Maplesville HS

Jackson is another Maplesville player that excels on the court. The guard scored a total of 75 points in 2020-21 and averaged 5.4 points per game.

Entering his junior year, his court time should improve and so will the points total. This is a guard that is great at getting to the rim and finishing on drives.
