Here are the top five players in Area 4.
Almonte’ Lewis | 5-5 G | Marengo HS
Lewis was just a sophomore last season, but took his team and the area by storm. The guard is an excellent team first player that can play well at both ends of the floor. On any given night, he can score between 15-25 points and help lead his team to a win.
Jalen Lucy | 5-5 PG | Sweet Water HS
Lucy is a terrific finisher at the rim and has great elevation on the court.
This is a player that doesn’t have to score on every possession to impact his team. When the ball is in his hands though, Lucy can fly past defenders and get to the basket.
Jonathan Morris | 5-9 SF | Sweet Water HS
Morris will enter his junior season in 2021-22. His sophomore season was fabulous, as he did everything he could on the court to show that he belongs.
When Morris has the ball, he is great in the mid-range but can also hit an open three or drive to the basket.
Keontavius McGrew | 6-3 F | Southern Choctaw HS
McGrew is one of the best players in the area. He can elevate over defenders and force his way to the rim down low in the post on offense.
On defense, he is a great defender that can force the ball handler to go against him towards the rim.
J’quell Crispin | 6-3 C | Marengo HS
Crispin is likely the top big man in area 4. At 6’3″, 233-pounds, he has a size advantage over the smaller defenders.
When the ball is passed to him in the post, he can hit a solid fade away jumper or just power his way to the glass.
His defense is even better, though. If a ball handler attempts a shot near him, Crispin’s size gives him the ability to block the attempt and get the ball back for his team.
