The top players in this area are a few underrated players that could see their stocks rise in the 2021-22 season.
Brodie Vandiver | 5-7 G | Belgreen HS
Vandiver helped lead his school to a 26-3 record last season. The guard had a phenomenal season shooting from the perimeter. He can also drive to the basket and has a great basketball IQ on the court.
Vandiver has excellent court vision and is a terrific lock down defender on defense.
Alex Jarnigan | 6-1 F | Belgreen HS
Jarnigan made his case last season for the top forward in Area 14.
He has excellent court awareness and excels down low near the rim at both ends of the floor. The incoming senior big man can attack the glass on offense, but he can also block shots and rebound well on defense.
Joshua Cooper | 5-9 G | Hackleburg HS
Cooper is a sensational guard that can put the game into his hands at any moment.
He can drive to the rim, but can also hesitate while driving and separate from a defender for an open shot.
Hayden Husley | 6-0 PG, SG | Phillips HS
Husley is a terrific combo guard that can play both the 1 and 2 spots.
When he is at point guard, Husley is great at leading the game and controlling the pace. He can drive to the rim but he also has a nice form on his three-point shots.
Bo Green | 6-0 SF | Philllips HS
Green was only a sophomore last season, but played his position well.
The 6’0″ small forward can attack the glass at both ends of the court and is a phenomenal defender in the paint.
Entering his junior year, Green could be a player to watch in Area 14.
