AAU Preview: ECI 15u Selects Voltz

Look out for this team! They have stellar guards, talented shooters, and athletic frontcourt players. Roster Comments from Coach Lane Voltz: Sam Fedorchak Sam Fedorchak 5'11" | PG Bismarck St. Mary's | 2024 ND (2024) |5-10 G| St. Mary’s - Sam will be a playmaker at the PG spot, and we’ll need him to create off the dribble for himself and others for us to be successful. His jump shot has come a long way. Nick Roemmich Nick Roemmich 5'10" | SG Bismarck St. Mary's | 2024 ND (2024) |5-9 G| St. Mary’s - Nick is an undersized shifty guard that has the ability to get to the hoop and finish well around larger defenders. His midrange game has also developed nicely. Jace Jochim Jace Jochim 5'11" | SG Linton/HMB | 2024 State ND (2024) |5-11 G| Linton/HMB - Jace is a very skilled offensive player from all levels that can really get hot at any time and fill it up. He’ll be looked at offensively in tough spots. Owen Chervestad (2025) |5-10 G| Red Lake County Central - Owen will be another primary ballhandler in our offense. He makes solid decisions with the ball in transition and can score from anywhere. He will also get after it defensively. Arrison Throntveit Arrison Throntveit 6'1" | SG Fargo South | 2024 ND (2024) |6-1 G| Fargo South - Arrison is an athletic wing that runs the floor and finishes well. His length and ability to do everything on the court will help us all summer. Zach Oehlke Zach Oehlke 5'11" | SG Grand Forks Red River | 2024 ND (2024) |5-10 G| Grand Forks Red River - Zach is another athletic wing that can score at all three levels. He’ll surprise some teams with his play throughout the summer and being a solid defender will be huge for us. Tate Parson Tate Parson 5'9" | SG Grand Forks Red River | 2024 ND (2024) |5-10 G| Grand Forks Red River -Tate is a knockdown shooter that will need to spread the floor and make shots for our offense to be successful. He is a smart player that will fill multiple roles. Turo Moni Turo Moni 6'4" | SF West Fargo Sheyenne | 2024 ND (2024) |6-4 F| West Fargo Sheyenne - Turo is improving as an offensive player at all levels. His size and rebounding will go a long way for us. He has the ability to spread the floor from both midrange and the three-point line. Ajura Spears Ajura Spears 6'4" | PF Bismarck Century | 2024 ND (2024) |6-4 F| Bismarck Century - Ajura and Turo are very similar in their style of play. We’ll need them to spell each other to be successful. Ajura is a smooth back-to-the-basket player that will only get better as the summer goes on. Like Turo, we will need him to defend and rebound. Team Notes from Coach Lane Voltz A lot of unknowns with this team going into the first tournament of the year. There is a lot of potential at all positions, but how well we learn to play together and how fast that happens will ultimately dictate our success. As we get more comfortable playing together within a system, the offense will improve with each tournament. These guys will need to play hard and defend all game to compete with the bigger and more athletic teams that we see, but they are up to the challenge.
