With as much talent in the class, it wasn’t easy to compose, but we got it. Here we take a look at some talented wings in the class.
Cameron Lowe Cameron Lowe 6'5" | SF Lewis-Palmer | 2022 State CO – Lewis-Palmer
Lowe has the potential to be a Top -5 prospect in the class when you look at ceiling. As soon as it comes together, he will be a nightmare matchup for whoever is in front of him, and we have started to see that immense upside as he has gotten healthier. Lowe is one of the most aggressive wings in the state, and he is a madman on the court. He is liable to erupt for a huge game on you or go and try and dunk with multiple players under the rim. He does not feel as if he can be guarded, and that versatility and confidence make him a tough cover as he provides balance. He can shoot it, finish inside with his 6’5 stature and mix it up. Defensively he is locked in and takes his matchup personally. For Lewis-Palmer, as he continued to get back healthy, he put up 11.2 points and 5.8 rebounds a game and had his moments on one of the better teams in 4A a season ago. Since then, he has been on a tear and looks like his usual self. Lowe comes in at the No. 11 overall player in the class, and if he remains unscathed for grassroots will be a player that certainly rises as he picks up Division I interest.
Kyle Sandler Kyle Sandler 6'7" | SF Hargrave Military Academy | 2022 State CO – Regis
Sandler has been my pick for one of the top two-way players in the state for the past two seasons, and the 6’5 small forward elevated his game a bit more in an important junior season. Regis was a team that entered into the season with high expectations and delivered as they went 14-2 on the year. The Raiders were pushing the pace in a way we had not seen, had a talented and long team, and their player that was able to mix it up and create mismatches was Sandler. Sandler is a knockdown shooter that, once he gets his feet set, its game over for. He shot the 3-ball at a 48% clip from deep, got to the basket, and either finished or was fouled and was a force on the boards. The talented wing put up 12.4 points and 6.8 rebounds a game, stepped down and defended bigger players, switched onto guards, and pressured them into errant passes and turnovers, and wreaked havoc from all over the floor. He is starting to see the floor a bit more and improving as a read-and-react player, and his ability to get it done on both ends of the floor make him a unique player. He comes in at the No.14 overall player in the class and makes the jump.
Dylan Sanders Dylan Sanders 6'4" | CG Colorado Prep | 2022 FL – Colorado Prep
Sanders is a difficult player to gauge as he shows a different side to him on each showing. We have seen Sanders, the interchangeable defender, the role-playing cutter that slashed and scored at the rim, and a playmaker. Sanders made the switch over to Colorado Prep and has continued to work on his game. Colorado Prep’s style of play seems to need a mixture of them all and call on different elements to his game which makes him an intriguing prospect for the next level. Sanders has an excellent stature at 6’4 and is bulking up. He is improving as a shooter, scorer, and a facilitator who can create with the ball in his hands from what we have recently seen. Sanders has the open court dunks and is great as a help-side defender, and his size and length create headaches for opposing guards. He will continue to get better in every aspect of his game and has shown to play well off the ball, and that versatility has been the reason for the jump up the rankings. Sanders comes in as the No. 5 combo-guard in the class that can step out on the wing at times.
Jordan McKay Jordan McKay 6'3" | SF Liberty | 2022 State CO – Liberty
McKay is a swiss-army-knife type of player that you can throw into any element, and he will adjust. For Liberty this season, he was one of the top standouts in the entire conference as he made 1st Team and, with more success, would’ve easily been in the running for the POY for the conference. The statistics back him up and show a productive player that takes what the defense gives to him and dominates. He was one of the few players in the entire state to average a double-double. McKay had 14 double-doubles on the season (No.7 in 2022 class) as he put up 21.7 and 10.7 rebounds a game. McKay is a 6’3 wing that plays above his size and is a relentless rebounder that goes right up with the ball. He has excellent footwork in the post, can start the break himself, and scored regardless of the double-team. He shows that he’s willing to put the team before his own stats and just wants to win in grassroots. He makes the sacrifice to fill in the gaps, show that he can be productive in a lesser role despite being so dominant throughout the year, and is willing to play winning basketball. McKay is an intriguing prospect that is on the up, and he backed it up with a stellar season despite the team underachieving. He comes in at the No.4 small forward in the class.
Andrew Scott Andrew Scott 6'4" | SG Silver Creek | 2022 State CO – Silver Creek
Scott has been a varsity starter since his sophomore season and made a huge jump. In his junior season, he opened up his game and improved in every category as his understanding of the game, ability to use his body, and willingness to use his shooting abilities opened up the rest of his game. Scott is a lights-out shooter from deep at 6’5 and has to be guarded the moment that he crosses halfcourt. Scott is always moving, can create for himself, and shoots it off of the dribble. He is a high-volume shooter and still was able to shoot the deep ball at a 41% clip. Scott averaged a team-high 15.8 points and 5.9 rebounds a game in his junior year as he led Silver Creek to a 10-4 overall record and was named to the All-Conference 1st Team. He erupted for a season-high of 35 points against Greeley Central in early March and had other head-turning nights. He has continued that strong play for grassroots and is a prospect to take a deeper look at. He comes in at the No. 3 shooting guard in the class.
