With as much talent that is in the class, it was a difficult list to compose, but we got it. Here, we take a look at the players who have gone a bit under the radar but are spark plugs that keep their teams flowing.
Asher Nofziger Asher Nofziger 6'7" | PF Cherry Creek | 2022 State CO – Cherry Creek
Nofziger is a player that got onto our radars last summer, but still remained a bit under the radar. Nofziger was the do-it-all forward his junior season on the No.1 overall seed heading into the playoffs and had his moments where he stood out. The reason for that is because he is a relentless rebounder that grabs boards out of his radius, is willing to dive for loose balls, puts his body on the line for charges, and is a rim protector. Nofziger has excellent size, and his length is disruptive. He’s 6’7 and is the ultimate role player that does not play for stats, or need a play ran for him to be effective. He sets hard screens and rolls, comes in and gives a burst of energy off the bench, and scores when needed as a glass cleaner. He has looked excellent to start grassroots as he has been asked to do more and is trending in the right direction. Excited to see what he turns into this season. He’s the No. 6 PF in the class and arguably the hardest worker.
Micah Leslie Micah Leslie 6'5" | PF Mullen | 2022 State CO – Mullen
Leslie is finally able to play after sitting for a year due to the transfer rule. What we saw from him in the few games that we watched this season, he’s a player that plays extremely hard. He made for an excellent frontcourt partner to another talented big and fit in seamlessly. He offers relief on both ends of the floor and is a two-way standout that scores inside, knocks down the mid-range extended jumper, and has his moments when locked in. Leslie is a 6’4 forward that filled the gaps, was aggressive on the boards, and also had no issue getting teammates involved. He put up 10.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.5 assists a game. He’s willing to be the defensive stopper, defends multiple positions, and plays within the offense’s flow. He comes in at No. 42.
Grant Page Grant Page 6'2" | CG Fairview | 2022 CO – Fairview
Page is one of the best multi-sport athletes in the state, and his future is on the gridiron, but has played well and has been very productive. Page is the change of pace guard that is the defensive stopper for the team and gives them their tough defensive identity. Page runs the floor well, and scores on outlet passes, off the dribble, and with the ball in his hands. Page was in the rotation his sophomore season and in his junior year, did the same kind of things. Hard-nosed defense, attacking the rim and kicking out, and playing the passing lanes for easy scoring opportunities on the other end. Page put up 8.8 points and 4.2 rebounds a game but is the enforcer for Fairview. He defended players that are bigger than him, had his way with guards, and was not outworked. He comes in as a Top-50 player in the class and one of the best two-way options.
Chase Miller Chase Miller 6'7" | PF Chatfield | 2022 State CO – Chatfield
Miller was Chatfield’s top player this season and made quite the jump from his sophomore to junior year. Miller went from a big body that could affect the game and come in as another forward option, to being the focal point of the offense and a complete player. Miller has a mature game and does a bit of everything. He’s a hardworking big that has a back-to-the-basket game, scores in transition, and also can get going in the halfcourt set as well. He hustles, protects the paint, and does not get outworked. Miller put up 12.7 points and 7.6 rebounds up a game on an entertaining squad. The team believed in him, and with that, his confidence has continued to grow. He has played well to start the grassroots season and will be a player to watch this upcoming season. He’s the No. 9 PF in the class.
Landen Dvorsky Landen Dvorsky 5'11" | CG Liberty | 2022 State CO – Liberty
I have gone on record and said he’s one of the players I have gravitated towards these past few seasons, and it is because of all of the things that go beyond the scoreboard. He does so many of the little things well that he becomes a standout. He’s an excellent on-ball defender, stunts on help-side to make teams have to guess. Offensively, he moves without the ball, rotates the ball quickly, passes and screens away, and is always moving, which keeps the offense flowing. Dvorsky is a concise standout that gives you a bit of everything and is a willing passer that feeds the hot man. For Liberty, he put up a balanced stat line and was the team’s best passer. Dvorsky averaged 11.8 points, 3.8 points, and 3.2 assists a game. He worked hard on both ends of the floor, was the team’s facilitator that got teammates involved, and it is amplified in grassroots for Pluto Prospects. He comes in at No.60 in the class.
