The majority of the class is available, but that does not mean they will stay that way. Here are the 2022 prospects who could commit to a school before the summer ends.
Ziare Wells Ziare Wells 6'6" | SG Hillcrest Prep | 2022 #234 Nation AZ , 6’6 SG St. Benedict’s
Wells has been on a tear for the NY Gauchos over the last two weeks as he showing his all-around game. The 6’6 lefty attacks the basket with a purpose and loves to finish above the rim. Wells has a good release on his jumper and is capable of running the offense. His combination of size and athleticism allows for him to defend multiple positions on the floor. Wells will get an opportunity to play in front of D1 coaches in June, so the chance is there for him to commit to a school after those events.
Otega Oweh Otega Oweh 6'4" | SG Blair Academy | 2022 State #91 Nation NJ , 6’4 SG Blair Academy
Oweh has had a strong AAU season so far with Team Final as he just picked up a pair of offers from Washington and Miami. The athletic 6’4 guard explodes to the basket and is unafraid of drawing contact. Oweh is capable of knocking down jumpers from distance and is an underrated passer. He works hard on the defensive end as he gets a ton of deflections. Oweh is an intriguing prospect, but his opportunities to play in front of college coaches in the near future gives him a chance to commit early.
Ryan Curry Ryan Curry 6'0" | PG Montgomery | 2022 State NJ , 6’0 PG Montgomery
Curry is one of the under the radar hot names in the class as he has been so solid for Jersey Force. The 6’0 floor general is not fazed by on-ball pressure and runs the offense efficiently. Curry is tough to contain off the bounce and makes opponents pay for giving him space on the perimeter. He is always looking to get his teammates involved and is an underrated defender. Curry’s teammate Chris Rubayo Chris Rubayo 6'8" | PF Montgomery | 2021 State NJ committed to Lafayette early in the process and Curry could follow that same path.
Drew Kania Drew Kania 6'7" | SF Gill St. Bernard's | 2022 State NJ , 6’7 SF Gill St. Bernard’s
Kania has been having a solid spring AAU season for Shore Shots, building off his breakout junior campaign. The 6’7 wing is comfortable handling the ball on the perimeter and knows how to draw contact. Kania is more than just a slasher as he has a good release on his jumper and range that extends past the three-point line. He attacks the glass on both ends of the floor and is an underrated defender. Kania’s stock is just beginning to rise, but the potential to lock in an early spot could be too enticing to pass up.
Sean Logan Sean Logan 6'10" | PF Westfield | 2022 State NJ , 6’9 PF Westfield
Logan’s stock has been on the rise since January and it should only continue to go up as he suits up for Team Rio . The lanky 6’9 forward can knock down jumpers from distance and can shoot over almost every defender. Logan has a nice touch around the basket and draws contact with consistency close to the basket. He has great timing on the defensive end, making him one of the top shot-blockers in the class. Logan could wait it out until after the conclusion of his senior season, but his combination of size, skill and length makes him an intriguing available prospect as the weeks go by.
