Many of the players from the class of 2022 will finally be receiving their due time on the court this season after having to wait for seniors to graduate ahead of them. As this list continues to pile up with lots of great talent, the number of players that are finally getting recognition is truly astounding to me. Continue reading for a third look at some of the underrated players from across the state of Idaho in the class of 2022.
Joseph Bertao Joseph Bertao 6'3" | C Filer | 2022 State ID , Filer: Bertao was recently named a second team all-conference player for Filer and his skills will be on full display again in the upcoming season as he attempts to become a first-team candidate. Joseph can score really well in the post and he is athletic for his size and position. Joseph is a great post player with lots of excellent footwork and moves that allow him to slip past defenders. If not playing in the post, Joseph can score well from deep and has a solid looking jumper.
Ashton Peightal Ashton Peightal 5'9" | PG Timberlake | 2022 State ID , Timberlake: Ashton is a knock down shooter from deep who can shoot with anyone in the state. His feet are always ready on the perimeter and he can shoot off the dribble, on a catch-and-shoot, or any other way that allows him to separate from his defender. Peightal will be one of the key offensive weapons for Timberlake in the upcoming season and I would expect to see him expand his role with the team throughout the season.
Jack Sciortino Jack Sciortino 6'1" | SG Post Falls | 2022 State ID , Post Falls: Jack is a solid guard for the Trojans and will look to make a big impact next season. He can shoot the ball well from outside and has really good shot selection. He shoots open shots when he is comfortable and confident and passes up the good shot for the great shot. Defensively, Jack plays with lots of energy and always finds a way to grab a steal or set his teammates up for easy buckets on the offensive end.
