Expectations for this season are high and rightfully so. The Lumberjacks are returning the bulk of their scoring from last year. They will be looking to dominate this season and they have the roster to do it. Here’s an early look at the RA Long Lumberjacks for the 2021 season.
Cavin Holden | 6’0 PG | 2023
Cavin, the younger of the Holden brothers, had a spectacular freshman campaign. He led his team in scoring with 17ppg. He has a silky stroke from 3 and is willing and able to shoot from beyond NBA range. He is what I call a “hot” guy— someone defenders can never leave open or give any space to. Cavin will be at the top of every opposing team’s scouting report and will most likely see the top defender. Teams will try to be physical with him to wear him down throughout the game but after seeing him recently, I’d say he is ready for the challenge. He’s spent a lot of time in the weight room this offseason. Cavin is a major stock riser in 2023 so be on the lookout for a special sophomore season.
Cam Holden | 5’11 CG | 2021
Cameron, the older of the two Holden brothers, was a nightmare to guard last season. I expect that to still be the case for this season too. He is a freak athlete with a quick first step which allows him to blow by defenders with ease. He has a great mid-range pull-up that he goes to often when defenders try to give him cushion to avoid blow-byes. The next step for him is being more consistent with his 3-ball. If he can do that this year then things will get ugly out there for opposing defenders.

Aaron is the difference-maker for this Lumberjack squad. He can control a game without having any plays drawn up for him. He is an elite rebounder, he will dunk on you, and he protects the rim. My favorite skill of his is his passing; he might be the best passing big in Washington. His stock has been rising and colleges are starting to notice his potential. Look for Aaron to have a big year this season for the Jacks.
Jamond Harris | 5’7 PG | 2022
Harris is the x-factor for this Lumberjack squad. He does all the little things for them that impact winning. He is the team’s best perimeter on-ball defender. He hits open shots consistently. And when defenses close out hard he can get in the lane for a nice floater with either hand. If Harris decides to be more aggressive offensively this year this Lumberjack squad will be even more dangerous than before.
Jaxson Cook | 6’7 C | 2023
Jaxson is a new addition to the Jacks this year. He will provide size and defense to the roster. His skill set is still a bit raw but it’s easy to see the potential. He has improved his finishing around the rim and is gaining more confidence in his overall game. He already has good instincts on the defensive end. He and Ofstun will be like the Twin Towers down low and will make it hard for teams to score in the paint.
