Some of the younger prospects in the state stepped up big time for their teams and showcased why they will be players to keep a close eye on.
Combine Academy Sophomore Guard Robert Dillingham Robert Dillingham 6'2" | CG Donda Academy | 2023 #9 Nation CA-S put together one of the best performances of the weekend, scoring 32 Points to lead his team to a championship. He’s crafty with the ball which causes headaches for defenders all game long.
Word Of God Christian Junior Freddie Dilione Freddie Dilione 6'6" | SG Word of God | 2023 #37 Nation NC was the offense for his team in their matchup with Lake Norman Christian. Scoring a team high of 23 points, showcasing his ability to score the ball from multiple levels.
Moravian Prep 2025 Guard Eli Ellis Eli Ellis 6'1" | CG Moravian Prep | 2025 GA is next up without a doubt ! He is an outstanding shooter that know how to create space to get his shot off. He went for 20 Points against Word Of God and followed that up with a 13 Point performance against a strong Liberty Heights squad. It’s impressive to see a player his age making big time plays in big games without much hesitation.
Liberty Heights Senior Jonas Aidoo Jonas Aidoo 7'0" | C Liberty Heights | 2021 State #89 Nation NC made his presence known throughout the weekend impacting the game in various ways. Aidoo has improved as a scorer but where he makes his best impact is rebounding and the ability to alter shots.
Lake Norman Christian Sophomore Guard Trey Green Trey Green 5'10" | PG Link Academy | 2023 #69 Nation MO has been one of the sleeper prospects that has proven himself this season. Once again this weekend we saw his ability to put the ball in the bucket at a high rate, providing some much needed offense for his team.
Bull City Prep Junior Guard LJ Thomas LJ Thomas 6'2" | CG Bull City Prep | 2022 #181 Nation NC has a smooth overall game and showed some balance of getting his own offense while getting others involved. Schools like Xavier and DePaul have already extended offers and it doesn’t take long to see why.
