The 3A Sectionals are underway and there were a lot of storylines from Wednesday’s opening round matchups. Let’s dive in and take a look at some of the top highlights from Wednesday’s night of hoops. 

Danville sneaks by Crawfordsville in loaded opener

It was a huge showdown between Danville and Crawfordsville in the first round of the Sectional 25 and it lived up to the hype. Our player to watch in this sectional, Kobe Ward Kobe Ward 6'4" | SF Danville | 2021 State IN , wasted no time in putting his mark on the state tournament. He scored 10 of his team-high 16 points in the fourth quarter, including the game-winning three with 4.2 seconds left to lift the Warriors, 65-62. Overall, Danville outscored Crawfordsville by 11 in the fourth quarter. 

Greencastle rolls despite quiet game from Brody Whitaker Brody Whitaker 6'2" | SG Greencastle | 2021 State IN

Greencastle was expected to win this matchup against North Montgomery, and they cruised in a 54-30 victory. Montgomery was coming off of a nearly month-long hiatus due to COVID precautions and the time off really showed.
