This year has been difficult for many prospects looking to extend their careers into college due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Furthermore, the NCAA granted an extra year of eligibility to student-athletes in light of the crisis. This waiver is allowed regardless of how many games, minutes, or scholastic class a player is currently in.
I wrote a similar segment yesterday and would like to follow-up with one today. Always feel free to reach out to me on my socials for prospect information.
Joey Brown Joey Brown 6'3" | PG Florida Christian | 2021 State FL – Florida Christian
2021 Joey Brown Joey Brown 6'3" | PG Florida Christian | 2021 State FL was one of the generals behind the Patriots 17-5 overall record this season. The 6-foot-3 point guard averaged 14.5 points, 5.2 rebounds and four assists on 48 percent shooting from the field. Moreover, Brown recorded four or more assists in eleven games. He has a solid build for the position and is incredibly athletic. This was a Florida Christian team that would get the most out of its possessions. Against Columbus, Brown scored 31 points on 13-of-22 from the field. He also grabbed nine rebounds and dished out seven assists. Take a look at some of his highlights by clicking here.
Matt Ansah Matt Ansah 5'11" | CG Boca Raton St. John Paul II | 2021 State FL – St. John Paul II Academy
2021 Matt Ansah Matt Ansah 5'11" | CG Boca Raton St. John Paul II | 2021 State FL improved his stock as his senior season went along. The 6-foot-2 point guard finished in double-figures over his final six games. Against North Broward Prep, Ansah scored 17 points and grabbed six rebounds on 6-of-13 shooting from the field. Moreover, he recorded six or more boards in eleven games. That statistic really shows his effort and athleticism from his position. Ansah averaged 12.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.5 steals per game for the Eagles. He holds an offer from Kentucky Christian University. Check out his senior season highlights by clicking here.
Raphael Houssou Raphael Houssou 6'2" | CG Sagemont | 2021 State FL – Sagemont
2021 Rapheal Houssou would be a nice addition to any college program. The 6-foot-2 combo guard is a strong ball handler with a quick first step. He can attack the basket with his frame or pull-up for a jumper in the mid-range. His outside shooting has improved over the course of his career. Houssou has great instincts for a backcourt prospect and is a solid passer. He really caught my attention at the Sunshine State Preseason Classic where he averaged 25 points over two games. Against Grandview Prep, Houssou finished with 35 points. He holds a 3.5 GPA so you’re getting a well-rounded individual.
Thaddeus Squire Thaddeus Squire 6'5" | CG Stranahan | 2021 State FL – Stranahan
2021 Thaddeus Squire Thaddeus Squire 6'5" | CG Stranahan | 2021 State FL looked smooth and fluid when I witnessed him play for the Mighty Dragons. The 6-foot-5 wing averaged 12.6 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.1 assists over seven recorded games. Squire brought the ball up the floor in certain situations and made plays around the glass. His athleticism and natural length gives him an advantage in the backcourt. Therefore, Squire can dribble penetrate and finish at the rim. His guard skills also emphasize his vision and passing ability. In the frontcourt, Squire’s size and wingspan comes into play around the glass. He is a three-level playmaker from the 1-3. Against Boyd Anderson, Squire had seven points, seven assists and nine boards. He is versatile with a ton of upside in my opinion. The same can be said about London Previlon London Previlon 6'6" | PF Stranahan | 2021 State FL . The 6-foot-6 forward averaged 10.1 points and 7.4 rebounds this season. Previlon has long arms and runs the floor well for a player of his size. Against Boyd Anderson, he had 22 points and 12 rebounds (six offensive). He is a prospect that will work on the offensive glass and get you second chance opportunities. His athleticism on defense will result in altered shots or rejections. Previlon will bring it on both ends of the floor.
Desmond Romer Desmond Romer 5'11" | CG Coral Gables | 2021 State FL – Coral Gables
2021 Desmond Romer Desmond Romer 5'11" | CG Coral Gables | 2021 State FL has a resume that you could put up against any player in the region. The 6-foot-1 point guard averaged 23.4 points, 6.3 assists, 4.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists for the Cavaliers this season. Moreover, he scored 20 or more points in 13 of 20 games. His output gave him over 1000 points during his high school career. Against Pine Crest, Romer had 25 points and six steals on 9-of-12 shooting from the field. In addition, he went 4-of-4 from 3-point range. That is a tremendous performance against one of the top teams in South Florida. He is extremely fast and will play on-ball defense from baseline to baseline. Romer is also an excellent student with a 3.0 GPA.
