It is especially intense in Group 4 with multiple prospects in contention for spots. Jack Seidler Jack Seidler 6'5" | SF Marlboro | 2022 State NJ , Ryan Curry Ryan Curry 6'0" | PG Montgomery | 2022 State NJ , Derek Simpson Derek Simpson 6'3" | PG Lenape | 2022 State NJ and Chad Martini Chad Martini 6'6" | PF Watchung Hills | 2021 State NJ look to be locks, but there are also unranked prospects who should make the team as well. Here are the top unranked Group 4 prospects with All-Group potential.
Davontay Hutson, 6’2 SG Trenton 2023
Senior teammate Davvonne Wells deserves recognition as well, but Hutson’s breakout year gets him the nod. The 6’2 wing is at his best attacking the basket as he knows how to finish around the rim. Hutson is a force on the glass as he has seven double-doubles so far this season. He is a play-maker on the defensive end as he recorded a triple-double with steals against Princeton. Hutson has been stuffing the stat sheet all season long and it should earn him postseason recognition.
Shawn Reckley, 6’2 SG Hackensack 2022
The Comets needed someone to provide a scoring spark for them in 2021 and Reckley has done that so far this season. The 6’2 guard is deadly from behind the arc with four games with at least four triples. Reckley is more than just a shooter as he is also capable of beating his defender off the bounce and finishing through contact. He has improved as a rebounder and is becoming more of an impact player on the defensive end. Reckley is one of the more under the guards in Bergen County, but no one should doubt his ability to score the basketball.
Devinir Garvey, 6’7 PF Paterson Eastside 2021
Garvey has literally burst onto the scene in 2021 as he has established himself as one of the top shot-blockers in the state. The 6’7 forward is swatting six shots a game, which includes an 11-block triple-double performance against Saddle River Day. Garvey is more than just a defensive specialist as he has a nice touch around the basket and can draw contact. He is an absolute monster on the boards at both ends of the floor and gets his hands on loose balls as well. Garvey has been an absolute load down low and it would not be a surprise to see him land on an All-Group team.
Etienne Richelieu, 6’4 SG/SF Elizabeth 2022
Al-Fatir Connor Al-Fatir Connor 6'0" | PG Elizabeth | 2021 State NJ has taken over the scoring charge for the Minutemen this season, but Richelieu’s emergence cannot be overstated. The 6’4 wing has a nice release on his jumper and is capable of knocking down triples in bunches. Richelieu is more than just a shooter as he is a good finisher around the basket and can draw contact. He is a strong rebounder for a wing and is an underrated passer. Richelieu is a skilled wing prospect who might be one of the top hidden gems in Union County in the 2022 class.
Jon Spatola, 5’7 PG Marlboro 2022
Seidler is the go-to guy in the Mustangs’ offense with Spatola being one of the better secondary scorers in the Shore Conference. The 5’7 guard is tough to keep out of the lane and is a crafty finisher around the basket. Spatola is more than just a slasher as he has a nice floater and can bury jumpers from distance. He makes smart decisions with the ball in his hands and plays with quick hands on the defensive end. Seidler and Spatola have been one of the top duos in the Shore Conference all season, so it should not be a surprise if both players get rewarded this season for their efforts.

Jakin Edmond, 6’2 SG Union 2021
