Continue ReadingIn the third installment of this series, we take a look at a handful of players that should be given more respect for their skills on both ends of the floor. A lot of great players have come out of the great state of Idaho and the majority remain overlooked for a variety of reasons. As the 2020-21 season comes to a close, most of these players will look to increase their skills and abilities for a final senior year or will look to find a way to play at the college level next season. Continue reading for a look at a few underrated players from the state of Idaho.
Bayler Perrin Bayler Perrin 5'7" | PG Mountain View | 2022 State ID , Mountain View: Mountain View made a surprise run to the state tournament this year and Perrin was able to help the Mavericks achieve a couple of quality wins throughout their season. Perrin is highly overlooked at this point in his career due to his size, but he more than makes up for this with his ability to score the ball and his overall heart and passion for the game. Bayler can score in all kinds of ways and always finds an opportunity to make a difference on the court.
Bryler Shurtliff Bryler Shurtliff 6'1" | SG West Side | 2022 State ID , West Side: Shurtliff is one of the best shooters in the state at any level and he will have another season to showcase his shooting ability at the high school level. Bryler has good size for a point/shooting guard and he can space out any defense with his ability to knock down the long ball. Shurtliff is an efficient shooter who knows how to get his shot off against any defender. Don’t let him get hot!
Jacob Martinez Jacob Martinez 6'0" | PG Vallivue | 2022 State ID , Vallivue: Martinez was able to prove himself this season with a couple of clutch performances and scoring outbreaks during the 2020-21 campaign. Martinez has a solid stroke from outside and he is a crafty finisher when he drives. He loves to get his teammates involved and routinely dishes out the correct pass at the right time to set his teammates up for easy baskets. Jacob is a great player that any coach would love to have competing for them on the floor at all times.
