Brennan Brumbaugh Brennan Brumbaugh 6'1" | SF La Crosse Central | 2021 State KS , senior, Goodland:
Although Goodland succumbed to Phillipsburg 48-39 in 3A sub-state play, it shouldn’t diminish the work of the 6-foot-4 guard/wing. Despite drawing every team’s defensive focus, he averaged 18 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists per game.
Maddox Decker Maddox Decker 5'9" | PG Santa Fe Trail | 2021 State KS , senior, Santa Fe Trail:
The Chargers were sent home by Riley County 61-50 in the 3A sub-state round. The 6-foot senior was really good after averaging 17 points per game as a junior. He hit four 3-pointers against Riley County, which was good representation of his entire senior year. He had numerous outings with four or more triples and nine games with 20 or more points. His 28 against a tough Osage City club stands out as a highlight performance.
Jeremiah Duncan, senior, Blue Valley-Randolph:
The Rams took a tough loss to Axtell 44-40 in 1A Div. 1 sub-state action. Duncan went down fighting with 21 points. He was a dependable and competitive senior in a rebuilding year for the Rams. He had several 20-plus games and several others with 19.
Noah Hastert Noah Hastert 6'6" | C Cair Paravel | 2022 State KS , junior, Cair Paravel:
No need to shed any tears for Hastert. He and the Lions will be back next year. But it was a disappointing end to the first opportunity to compete in KSHSAA playoffs for Cair Paravel. The Lions lost 55-54 to Burlingame in 1A Div.1 sub-state. Look for them to come back even better. Hastert averaged about 16 points and 10 rebounds as a junior.
Devin Loudermilk Devin Loudermilk 6'3" | SF West Elk | 2021 State KS , senior, West Elk:
A guy who didn’t receive enough credit, the multi-sport athlete was really good at West Elk, which lost to Belle Plaine 61-54 in a 2A sub-state game. The 6-foot-4 guard did everything, scoring 20.5 points, grabbing 7 rebounds and dishing out 3.5 assists. He could do a lot of things at the college level, but has decided to join the KU track team.
