Everyone’s eyes are lighting up for a chance at ring, lets see who put on a show Thursday night.
Zeke Mayo Zeke Mayo 6'4" | CG Lawrence | 2021 State KS , 6’4 Guard, Lawrence, 2021: The highly rated guard for the Lions, showed why he is one of the top guards in the Midwest, dropping 41 points including an insane 29 in the fourth quarter as he frantically tried to give Lawrence a shot against a loaded Blue Valley North team. The guard has the complete package in his game from catch and shoot threes, attacking with a change of pace, scoring in transition, and getting to his spots off the bounce. A storied career comes to an end with an absolutely incredible performance.
Sterling Chapman Sterling Chapman 6'4" | CG Campus | 2021 State KS , 6’5 Guard, Campus, 2021 (Pictured): The big, physical, explosive guard nearly had half of his teams points tonight in a slug it out win over Free State, scoring 20 in the ball game. He is a tough matchup, and tonight proved no different. In a slow it down slug fest on the big stage, Chapman is a great player to have, with the ability to guard multiple spots on defense with his size, and can go get him a tough bucket on the offensive end.
Isaac Patterson Isaac Patterson 6'6" | PF Overland Park | 2021 State KS , 6’5 Wing, Blue Valley North, 2021: Another senior coming through big time for his team, Patterson continued to show his value on the court with his versatility, scoring 23 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, and dishing out 3 assists in the game. His ability to see the entire floor, rebound with his length, knock down open and contested jumpers, and guard all over the floor is tremendous. He was a problem for Lawrence to deal with all night.
Mark Mitchell Mark Mitchell 6'7" | SF Sunrise | 2022 State #8 Nation KS , 6’7 Forward, Bishop Miege, 2022: The big time prospect posted another stamp on his tremendous season scoring 24 points on a super efficient 10 of 14 from the field and had 2 blocks in the game. Continued to show his shooting touch tonight which is a big plus paired with his next level athletic ability. His energy and effort has jumped a notch in the post season making his defensive play outstanding as well.
Harlan Obioha Harlan Obioha 7'0" | C Hoxie | 2021 State KS , 7’ Center, Hoxie, 2021: The big center gave just about it all to try and keep his Hoxie squad alive against the hot Wabaunsee Chargers. His ability to catch and finish, use his size to score over defenses, and skilled footwork was on full display once again as he finished with 36 points in the state semi loss. His ball tracking and size are a great tandem and he finished with 15 rebounds as well. College interest is starting to grow with Obioha, and this post season run will help his stock.
Eli Oliver Eli Oliver 6'2" | SG Wabaunsee | 2023 State KS , 6’1 Guard, Wabaunsee, 2023: The newly ranked 2023 guard continued to grow his high school career dropping 24 points and helped shoot the lights out of the gym in Wabaunsee’s win over Hoxie. He hit a ton of timely shots as well to keep Hoxie’s runs at bay. Oliver improving his play, especially his ability to knock down perimeter shots has not only helped push Wabaunsee on this insane run, but also has sent his stock up.
