This was the case at the Team Final Black practice session as players did their best to prove they were ready for the AAU season. Here are the top stock risers from the Team Final Black practice yesterday.
Devyn Wright-Myles Devyn Wright-Myles 6'3" | SF Hamilton West | 2024 State NJ , 6’2 SG Trenton Catholic 2024
The Iron Mikes are loaded with talent, but Wright-Myles’ play showed he is ready to make an impact next year. The 6’2 guard is an explosive athlete as he was routinely finishing above the rim. Wright-Myles showcased more than his dunking ability as he handled the ball well on the perimeter and finished around the basket. He plays with good instincts on the defensive end as he got numerous steals during the defensive sections. Wright-Myles is an athletic wing who should have a big spring and summer season.
DeBarrin Norman, 6’6 PF Abington Friends 2022
Norman was one of the loudest players on the court as he was consistently talking on both ends. The 6’6 forward was helping out his teammates with plays when he wasn’t in the game and talking on the defensive end. Norman ran the floor hard throughout, especially during the full court drills. He has a nice touch around the basket and his length makes him a solid defender. Norman’s versatility and talk on defense are two qualities that will help him this season for Team Final Black.
Drew Greene Drew Greene 5'10" | PG Cherry Hill East | 2022 State NJ , 5’10 PG Cherry Hill East 2022
Greene may have been the smallest player on the floor during the 2022 session, but he was still able to show out. The 5’10 guard ripped down an offensive rebound in traffic despite giving up a number of inches. Greene pushed the pace nicely in transition and made smart decisions with the ball in his hands. He has a nice release on his jumper and moves his feet well on the defensive end. Greene’s ability to make good decisions with the ball will be key for him in his play for Team Final Black in the spring and summer.
Deuce Mutts, 6’3 SG Roman Catholic 2023
Mutts had a strong showing at practice yesterday as he showcased his all-around skillset. The 6’3 guard can handle the ball on the perimeter and is decisive when attacking the basket. Mutts also has a strong frame which he uses to finish through contact. His defense jumped out as he moves his feet well and was in the right position during the shell drill. Mutts has a bright future ahead of him if he continues to show his ability to be a two-way player for Team Final Black.
Keith Brown Jr. , 6’1 PG Life Center Academy 2024
Brown Jr. proved his ability to run the offense during the 2024 session as he made several beautiful passes throughout the practice. His best one came in the five man weave transition drill as he threw a perfect baseball pass to his man in stride for a layup. Brown Jr. plays with good court vision as he is always looking to get his teammates involved. He has a nice release on his jumper and plays with good instincts on the defensive end. Brown Jr. is a true point guard who’s stock should only go up during the spring and summer AAU seasons.
