Versatile athletes from all of the positions on the floor are popping up all over the place, but today we are going to be giving the highlight to those versatile wings who can play a variety of spots on the floor and can guard multiple spots.
Julian Margrave Julian Margrave 6'9" | SF Louisberg | 2022 KS , 6’9, Louisberg: The combination of handle, length, shot creation, and shot making make Margrave one of the most intriguing prospects in the class of 2022 in Kansas. He is upwards of around 20 points and 8 rebounds a game and with a big spring and summer continuing to develop, he could be a legit double double per game player in his senior campaign. On the circuits look for his pick and pop ability to knock down shots, running the screen and roll game as a ball handler, coming off down screens, and running in transition knocking down 3’s or getting up to the rim. Margrave is a versatile defender on the wing as well and his long steps and long arms allow him to guard a ton of guards and forwards.
Tyrese Cannon Tyrese Cannon 6'3" | SF Leavenworth | 2022 KS , 6’4, Leavenworth: The leader for Leavenworth this season after their shortened season, Cannon is a primed candidate to explode on to the grassroots scene this year with his ball handling skill, scoring ability in transition, and electric playmaking in transition. His length, quickness, and activity on the defensive end get him a bunch of deflections, steals, and blocks that allow him to get into my favorite area of his game, transition offense. When he gets going down hill whether its in transition, isolation, or off of ball screens he has an array of ability to get things done. He can knock down pull up threes, get into the mid range, and finish up at the rim. Cannon has a good mixture of finesse and strength on drives. Excited to see him out on the circuits.
Nahcs Wahwassuck Nahcs Wahwassuck 6'5" | CG Royal Valley | 2022 State KS , 6’5, Royal Valley: The extremely versatile offensive and defensive weapon, Wahwassuck can play heavy minutes at any spot from the 1 through 4 on offense and can guard those same positions effectively. He has quick bursts downhill, good lateral speed, good leaping ability, and really long arms which allows him to cover a ton of ground, score, and make plays in a variety of ways. This past season he also improved his 3 point shooting ability both off the dribble and catch, making him an even more versatile player. Although a tremendous passer, it is also probably his most underrated ability as he can make all the passes and get guys tremendous looks from the floor. Averages of 19.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3.1 steals per game.
Jaron Briggs Jaron Briggs 6'4" | CG Piper | 2022 State KS , 6’4, Piper (Pictured): Briggs is a hard nosed wing with great size and a motor. A double double threat throughout the season, the Piper forward averaged 16.4 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. He has a real good handle and can snag a defensive rebound and push the break or run the wings and get downhill and make plays at the rim. Pretty versatile player as he can bang inside and is a tough scorer in the paint off of offensive rebounds or slashing as a cutter against zones. A ready made wing with a motor, Briggs is definitely a prospect on college radars in the 2022 class.
Seth Madron Seth Madron 6'2" | SG Mcpherson | 2022 State KS , 6’3, McPherson: Hard nosed gifted athlete who can play above the rim on the offensive end and can guard athletic 1’s through 4’s on the defensive side of the floor. He has a great first step off the bounce and his rip drives going left or right are hard to contain and keep him out of the paint. Madron plays with a ton of passion on the floor and makes winning play after winning play. When he gets going up and down during the spring, he should be able to make a ton of plays that showcase his talents.
Brayden Schilling Brayden Schilling 6'5" | SF Hesston | 2022 State KS , 6’5, Hesston: A long athlete with tremendous bounce off the floor, Schilling brings a ton to the table on the perimeter and inside. He had a tremendous run through the post season including a 7 rebound performance and an efficient scoring night in the state championship game win. He plays with a ton of energy, can crash hard and get put backs, has active hands and long arms which cause havoc on the defensive end, and cuts really well on offense which gets him into great spots to score. He has a nice short and mid range game and as he continues to grow his game he is a wing with a ton of potential. He may put on a couple of highlight shows this spring.
