Adriel Smith Adriel Smith 5'10" | CG Rose Hill | 2022 State KS , 6’ Guard, Rose Hill, 2022
2nd Team AVCTL D4
Analysis: Although being nominated to the 2nd team, Smith put up first team numbers no doubt, averaging over 23.5 points per game, and was a tremendous rebounder as well from the guard spot averaging around 7 per game most of the season. He is pound for pound one of the toughest and quickest guards I have seen this year and is great at getting into gaps off the bounce and getting his or getting other guys involved. Last that I could find officially recorded, he averaged roughly 3.3 assists and 2.2 steals per game. He is more than just an electric 3 level scoring guard, he is an all around playmaker from the lead guard spot.
Fontaine Williams Jr. , 6’2 Guard, Derby, 2022
2nd Team AVCTL D1
Analysis: One of our top prospects listed in the class of 2022, Williams is an extremely talented and versatile guard with a ton of upside. He was a huge addition for a great program in Derby, and provided quite the punch in his season for them, averaging 16 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists per game. The lefty shot 37% from 3, 77% from the foul line, and 42% overall from the field. He is only scratching the surface of his ability and should be on a ton of radars for a massive spring and summer run.
BJ Redic BJ Redic 6'2" | SF Andover | 2023 State KS , 6’3 Guard, Andover High School, 2023 (Pictured)
Honorable Mention AVCTL D2
Analysis: In a loaded D2 division earning honorable mention in your sophomore year is big time and BJ Redic BJ Redic 6'2" | SF Andover | 2023 State KS is a big time player. He is extremely versatile on the defensive end and can guard a variety of play styles and positions on the floor. He averaged 8 points and almost 5 rebounds per game while contributing half a steal and half a block per game as well. He filled a variety of roles for a really solid Andover team this season, and as his role grows so will his numbers recognition. His athletic ability is already top notch and with another strong spring and summer, look out for Redic soaring up the rankings.
Devon Junghans Devon Junghans 5'9" | PG Salina South | 2021 State KS , 5’11 Point Guard, Salina South, 2021
2nd Team AVCTL D1
Analysis: The floor general for an extremely successful Salina South squad this season, the seasoned vet point guard set 3 point made records for the school and that is probably his 3rd or 4th biggest contribution that he can bring to a team. He commands attention, is a great leader, plays with pace and poise, and has a winning mindset. Skill wise he is shifty and quick with the ball in penetration, plays well off screen and roll, kicks it ahead in transition, and can get extremely hot from 3. He averaged 12.5 points, 4 assists, 2.2 rebounds, and over a steal per game on the year.
Wesley Fair Wesley Fair 6'2" | CG Wichita Collegiate | 2023 KS , 6’2 Guard, Wichita Collegiate, 2023
1st Team AVCTL D4
Analysis: The 6’2 combo guard averaged about 12.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.6 assists per game on the year, and like previously mentioned, making AVCTL honors in your sophomore year is no easy feat. He is extremely athletic and he uses his gifts to his advantage as he is a tremendous player in transition. When he gets out and running he can play with either hand when in attack mode, can get up to the rim, and has the strength to finish through contact. On the defensive end of the floor he is a lock down defender and can guard multiple positions.
Eli Shetlar Eli Shetlar 6'4" | SG Andover | 2023 State KS , 6’3 Guard, Andover, 2023
Honorable Mention AVCTL D2
Analysis: Shetlar is another young and talented guard for Andover who filled his role as one of their snipers perfectly. He has no fear in his game and knocked down huge shots from the perimeter throughout the year for Andover. He averaged roughly 9 points per game on 50% shooting from the floor and 47% from the 3 point line. As his role grows and he develops the rest of his game, look for Shetler to turn into a heck of an all around player.
