Monday evening in The Smith Center on the campus of Mount St. Joseph, the Gaels hosted MIAA A Conference foe Gilman for a 6 p.m. tip. After a strong start that had Mount St. Joseph off to a 12-0 advantage in the first five minutes, the Gaels went onto fight off a couple of Gilman comebacks and extended their lead, eventually going on to win by a final score of 64-43. Mount St. Joe improves to 4-1 with the win while Gilman falls to 3-3.

Here are the player evaluations from the contest:

Bryson Tucker Bryson Tucker 6'5" | SF Mount St. Joseph | 2024 MD | 6’5 | Mount St. Joseph ’24

The biggest reason I wanted to attend this game was to see Tucker live. Over the last few weeks, there has been plenty of talk over his skill, size and potential as a true 14-year-old freshman. I was blown away. Tucker ended up leading the Gaels with 20 points and did so in an extremely efficient manner. The freshman cashed in on four three’s had a number of strong takes to the basket and converted at the free-throw line. While his scoring impressed, it was his overall feel and approach to the game that spoke volumes.
