But for the schools that have been given the green light to resume play, here’s a quick look at some of the players on those teams to keep an eye out for.
1. Nolan Rice – St. Bonaventure 2021
Rice is one of the better unsigned seniors in the area who had some strong performances this winter at the Hoops 2.0 Showcases. He’s a fluid perimeter scorer who can knock down jumpers off the dribble. He looks comfortable with the ball in his hands and getting himself easy scoring looks. Strong shooter from the outside who can also make a play going to the rim. He also moves well without the ball and is a good catch and shoot player.
2. Chris Nickelberry Chris Nickelberry 5'10" | PG Damien | 2021 State CA-S – Damien 2022
Nickelberry is another player who had a strong showing at the Hoops 2.0 events and he’s a potential breakout player for this season. He’s a crafty ball-handler and solid point guard prospect. He’s very quick off the dribble and he can get to his spots on the court easily. He can shoot off the bounce and get to the rim. He finishes through contact and around bigger defenders. Very unselfish, looks to create easy looks for his teammates. Good defender.
3. Adam Hinton Adam Hinton 6'5" | SG Phillips Exeter Academy | 2022 NLG – Harvard Westlake 2021
Hinton is an interesting wing prospect and one of the better unsigned seniors. He’s strong in transition as the ballhandler and he finishes strong at the rim on the break. He can finish through contact at the rim. He’s been a strong shooter from three-point range especially in catch and shoot situations, but it looks like he’s worked on his midrange game off the dribble. He’s got the frame to be a good defender on the wings and be able to guard multiple positions.
