We will look at some guys that put up monster numbers this season and will look to garner a wider audience with their play this spring, guys who are waiting for their role to increase and could drastically improve this spring, and other notables with the potential to take their games to the next level.
Tyler Little Tyler Little 6'5" | PF Galena | 2023 State KS , 6’6 Forward, Galena: The high level football prospect will look to continue to boost his basketball stock this upcoming spring on the big stage after another tremendous high school basketball season helping lead a very good Galena team to the state championship game. His combination of size, athleticism, and quick bounce off the floor make him a tough matchup in both transition and in the half court game. His face up game in the post is really impressive with a quick first step to attack either way or can knock down shots in the mid range off it. He is a good roller off the pick and roll as well. Little is also a double double candidate in every game he plays in. He will be looking to propel himself as the solidified top forward in the group.
Jack Voth Jack Voth 6'6" | PF J.T. Hoggard | 2023 State NC , 6’4 Forward, Buhler: Voth was 1st Team All AVCTL as a sophomore which is a big time feat, and it was well deserved. The perfect sidekick to the dynamic Max Alexander Max Alexander 6'0" | PG Next Level Prep | 2022 KS , he is a great pick and pop player, catch and shoot forward, and can mix it up inside. He has a ton of upside, and it will be fun to see his development in the spring and summer as it should propel him to take the reigns at Buhler next season. His length is a great tool and his ability to shoot the ball especially with closeouts coming, makes him a lethal offensive player.
Tyson Ruud Tyson Ruud 6'5" | SF Basehor-Linwood | 2023 State KS , 6’4 Forward, Basehor Linwood: Ruud is biding and waiting his time behind a loaded Basehor team. Seeing spot minutes throughout the varsity season and playing extremely well at the JV level, Ruud is an athletic hard playing forward who could really see his stock and game take a huge leap with a strong spring and summer campaign. He has the athletic gifts to make him an impact player on the court, he can jump out the gym, can sprint the floor, and has a knack for rebounding the ball. In the MoKan Fall League in October, he also showed the ability to knock down jump shots.
Kaden McDaniel Kaden McDaniel 6'4" | PF Augusta | 2023 State KS , 6’5 Forward, Augusta: Another player who played at a high level in his sophomore season, look for McDaniel to get his name planted for moving up in the rankings and raising his stock. The back to the basket play is polished scoring over either shoulder and the footwork is pretty solid. He had a great run in the post season highlighted with a 19 point effort in a win over Rose Hill. McDaniel is another forward on this list who can become a double double machine in the spring and carry that on for the rest of his career.
Te’Jon McDaniel, 6’3 Forward, Salina South: McDaniel was an energetic and springy role player for a very successful Salina South team this year that had a ton of great guard play. He averaged 6 points and 5 rebounds a game and played his role really well for them. He shot around 57% on the season as well, scoring during opportune times and taking advantage of great set ups by the talented back court. McDaniel could be someone who really gets to expand his game this spring.
